News Update

Two new things. Firstly, I've been playing around with some realism settings in Cinema, especially at schoo when I'm supposed to be working (ask Melee-Master). Caustics are awesome. Even though I don't consider this image realistic, you can see how it's important for realism. For those of you who don't know, the caustics are the light deflected from the metal onto the floor. I also used three point lighting. Helps with shadows.

Secondly, in a rare event, I'm actually working on a game. I'm hoping on uploading a demo soon. It's not good at all compared to a lot of the other games submitted here but this is the extent of my ability with Gamemaker so I'll submit it anyways. It'll be up soon.

Good, but what the heck happened to the edges?

Heh, work in IT class? Yeah right. I don't do any because I'm done. I just fool around.

The edges always come out like that. Even in the renders. And yes, obviously IT.

Nice picture…

I stick primarily to 3D Abstract redners with Cinema 4D….

Of course, with Bryce 5, i stick to Abstract SOMETIMES, but usually, i'll be creating a scene, or a backdrop..

Like in my Satan's Crypt.

The endges look like you have antialiasing turned off, or very low setting… bumping that setting up will clear that right up. (I don't know where the settings for this is in c4d) I don't use that software, but all 3d softwares have this option.

Also… 3point lighting is a very good method to use, but you only need one of those lights to cast a shadow, If you want to kinda improve the shadows of this image, you should turn 2 of the light's shadows off. That way only 1 light cast a shadow and the image as a whole looks a bit more "crisp"

Of course I sugest for this image keeping the darker shadow active.

These are just suggestions… maybe your scene is suppose to have multiple shadows from multiple light sources… but 3pt lighting is usually a way of "fakeing" GI (global illumination) thus only 1 shadow is cast.

Great job on this render… it looks really cool.
