What a way to take a trip down memory lane. Nice addition.

Edit: The screenshot hurts my head. I like it.

Now to air out everyone's dirty laundry. Wheee!

Totally needs a "sort by +1s" feature.

Really sweet feature, especially given it shows comments from deleted blogs. You have no idea how long I've wanted this.

i think i had mental retardation when i was here 8 years ago. my first few comments were not only horrible but they also didn't make sense.

"i think i swallowed a fly two weeks ago"

wtf was wrong with me.

while we're at adding features, is there any way to make a "Quote" button? i've never realized how we've never had this and how essential it is. i mean, instead of clicking one quote button i have to copy and paste text? wtf what is this weight lifting? i only have so much finger strength.

As long as there's an option to change back to this style of commenting, I don't see why not. I can see an option in our preferences, where the new threaded option is default and anyone that doesn't like it can change back to this style. If they DO use this older style, what you can do is include a link at the top of each comment that leads to the original comment. That shouldn't be too bad.

I think change is good, especially considering this style of commenting has been around for 8+ years at 64Digits. I really doubt it's going to change any kind of dynamic. Instead, it might scare some users which I personally don't mind but if you want to take the extra steps to not alienate people you can include the comments option in the preferences.

Also, v4 is happening? Oh sweet I can't wait for 2020 :D

Please, please, please no. Threaded comments just insulate everything from everything else and split up conversations into all these tangents that get really hard to follow, especially if you're catching up on new replies somewhere you've already looked at. That, and they force you to make multiple comments to reply to multiple people. I don't think they're a good fit for a small site like this, where there are few enough voices in a comment thread for it to basically read like a coherent conversation.

Backlinks (maybe ones you can hover over) would be nice though.

^This is what I mean by including the option.

2020?! Man, you're optimistic.

I like to believe it will get done sometime in the future, yes. :)
