On the heels of Linked rides in Aster Blaster HS, a remake of a game I abandoned a while ago!
ABHS is a classic arcade shooter at heart (asteroids style), but will allow users to play through a large range of different scenarios (hopefully 30-40+), each with it's own high score and best time. An endurance mode will also be included, as well as different awards and medals for people who can complete special goals.I am debating some kind of skirmish mode too, but we'll see, since I am not sure if I am up for coding that quite yet. Anyway, here's a screenshot:<img src="http://www.martincrownover.com/files/ab1.jpg">It's coming along quite nicely, although it's already getting to be a bit large (3.65Mb zipped), but most of the animations are already added, so it shouldn't take up too much more space (no pun intended).I'll keep you guys updated!
Ooooooo…..aaaaaaaa…
Asteroids 3d?Is the background dynamic or static? It looks great!
If it actually sort of moved depending on where you are, that would be even cooler. The background is currently static, but the forms you see that brighten up the space are randomly generated each time you travel to a new area. I am considering making the background scroll a bit as you move, but I'm not sure how weird that will look, so we'll see if it makes the cut.
Looks nice.. What's that counter in the right upper corner ?
…and btw, skirmish mode ? Heh, anyway, looking cool =POh, cool =P I'm a little bit dumb at morning.
looks good.
I'm guessing that purple bar is the health, right?Looking good Fred. =]
hah cool. u think 3.65 mb is large?? i have a wip ive decided never to fininsh called Sytro. it was a platformer and is… lemme check… 67.4 MB
You always making cool stuff.
=PVery nice graphics, but it's not original enough; too much like Asteroids. Should really get some beautiful graphics going for the space, instead of just static backgrounds; and after that, work on some proper original twists to the classic asteroids game.
