I haven't psoted a blog here in a while, and with good reason. Well, the same reason why my blogs are always sparse - I've been busy. One thing that I have managed to squeeze into my hurried schedule is (yet) another game, one which is coming along pretty nicely.
The problem is, it's an online multiplayer game, and finding people to test it with ain't always easy… especially people with computers that can run 3D stuff alright.Anyway, I'd like to test out the game with 3 other poeple tonight. So far it's max 4 players (we'll see if I can get it beyond that though).Of course, I'm sure you're wondering what the heck game I am talking about, so I'll show you! It's a dog-fighting game (not the animal kind), using old biplanes as the vehicle of doom. Check out the screenshot:So anyone up for a little test? I would really appreciate the help! Post a message and we'll set something up! After the test I will post the demo link in the blog. [:D]Well, thanks to Arcalyth, ApexInc, and a couple other people, I've gotten to test it out a bit, and it seems to work pretty well. If anyone would like to try it out with thier friends now, here's the link… please post how your FPS goes (it's the "score" in the title bar) and any other good stuff / bad stuff you see. Thanks! Here's the link (1.34 Mb)Controls:Arrow keys - Turn left and rightSpace bar -FfireEnter - SpawnF4 - Toggle full screen / windowedEsc - End gameBugs that I am aware of:· Sometimes when a player exits his plane, name, score, etc. do not go away· You can get "stuck" in one of the corners of the map (turn back and forth to catapault out of this)· Plane does not bank when it's forced to turn at the map's edge· There is a tiny bit of ground that you can see through in the silo's shadow· Names overlap in the window (these names and the health bar ar temporary)Stress test - Need a few good people!

Looks nice
Cool, more quality 3d stuff.
b-e-a-utiful as always. Solid 60
One thing though, the shadow doesn't change when you turn (I mean it doesn't transform like the plane). Nothing important really, but whatever.I noticed a bug in the plane's flight. If you turn and hold the down key then release the key in whatever direction your turning the plane sometimes stops moving. More work to this and i'm sure it will become a major hit on the GMC.
Hehe, thanks. The down key was kind of a leftover from the gm6 I built this from (remember the rolling ball with smooth camera example I made?), and I think I left some of the old ball code in there. That will be fixed soon.
Ah yes I remember that example. Ok, well its an exellent game that I would play any day.
Thats a really awesome game fred. Good Job :)
Great game, I can tell its gonna be another great release from you, I got a solid 60 FPS the whole time. I would love to test it online with you asell but I live in Australia (GMT+10), so it might be hard to find a time when we are both online.
Stayed between 58 and 60 fps. Awesome game! :D
