Dawn of Envy [Week 2]

Some more screenshots and updates on the progress of the revived project: Dawn of Envy. A medieval RTS game for those of you unfamiliar with the project. This will be the third release of the game and therefore it will be known as Dawn of Envy III.

[Sorry for the poor quality. Lag in screen recorder + converting .avi to .gif = Epic Fail]

New menu design. It has basic buttons and uses the in-game hud as the border. The graphics for this game are all going to have that cartoon look, i'm just trying to make it all match and blend in well. It has two slide shows displaying screen shots of the game. The slide shows drop down from the top of the screen when switching to another image. It uses the wobble script for the bouncing effect. (Credit to Mordi for making script).

Things I've added since the last DoE blog:

-Menu (As seen above)

-Minimap

-Food

-Farming

-Building processing (houses and other structures)

-Magicians (Ice, Fire, Lightning, and Darkness… soon to have Healers)

-Blood effects

-Better AI Army control. (Sends army in larger groups rather than one person at a time.)

-Improved path finding script (still a little buggy but much smoother)

Things I'm working this week:

-Magician building. What should I call it? I have a barrack for warriors and archers…. What do you call a place for magicians?

-Wild Animals. Wolves, bears, hogs, etc… random attacks on villages adds pressure to both the player and enemy.

-Heroes. A unit of more capabilities and enhanced stats over the average military unit.

-Hunter's Lounge. Upgrades for archers.

-Black Smith. Upgrades for warriors.

-Magician upgrades. (Again I don't know what to call it yet.)

Don't magicians usually live in towers?

Idk, people keep giving me suggestions and the majority of them are saying that magicians would be in a temple or church. But that just reminds me of a priest which is a healer. I'm adding elemental magicians that deal fire, ice, lightning, and darkness. Its black magic. A tower doesn't sound like a bad idea though…
