Skype.. Good or bad?

Posted by Glen on Jan. 30, 2010, 4:55 p.m.

Does anyone use skype? What are your opinions on using it for a Live Help feature on a website? Making it possible to help people by talking to them personally and not having to use phones. (budget in mind). If you have a better suggestion for something that could be used for live help I'd like to hear about it. I'm not looking to have an increased phone bill.

Skype seems to be quite impressive when reading the features. Does anyone have experience with it? I've heard from one person that it's quite slow and another person told me they love it. So I'm not sure which to believe. Is it a good program or a bad one?

ok for this idea of live help or whatever it just sounds weird… but I use it all the time and It works very nicely. but I only use it for personal contacts

I only use it for personal contacts too, but I like it a lot more than any other instant messenger.

yeah I'm wondering if I should get a 3g card for my netbook and use skype as a phone etc.

I haven't used it much, but as a free substitute for a phone when you're at home or when playing multiplayer games with friends it is quite useful.

Not quite sure if I'd use it as a Live Help feature though.

i dont like it for chat, but it does have it. for voice calling its nice. ive tried it before, back when it was free.

Well, first of all, I'll look around Google for a solution, and if the problem is too specific, I either call or go through a chat support thing (not very frequent).

@Alert Games: Skype is free from PC to PC.
