Anyone good with cars?

So I need an idea. I have to run about about 4 wires to my battery. Recently I made them into a whip. I used electric tape and bundled them together like a large black wire and ran them through the engine to the battery. Problem is. Electric tape melted. And so did some of the wires because of that. Wish I had a high temp hose that I could run the wires through. Any solutions? Get created as needed. I'm trying to find a hose that will work for me, but not sure what it would be called. Most hoses that are high temp are big enough for a single wire. I need four wires and two of them are 4 gauge wires. So I need a little room in that hose. Not some tiny thing. I would use a pipe, but those get really hot. Idk what to do. I don't need my wires to catch on fire and melt again.

First, it generally not good idea to tie directly to the battery. If you get burnt/damaged wire, you can short the battery directly to the frame and cause a fire. Or at least a dead battery.

Unless you need high current, just use the wiring harness (where fuses are).

If you MUST tie directly to battery, then run longer wires around the engine compartment and avoid hot engine.

And don't forget to add fuses as close to battery as possible.

Well, the two 4 guage wires go to amplifiers. They require that I run them straight to the battery and they both have fuses about 8 inches away from the battery. The two other wires are for lighting inside the car. They're small (about the size of audio wire). The directions for installation told me to wire it to the battery, so I did.

I have a wire go directly to my battery, but I got an expensive wire that has a fuse.

Good plan for the fuses. Also, I guess you have large amp to need that gauge, right?

Good news is that you can buy longer wires at any auto or electronics store. Then you can avoid problem of hot engine.

If you really must cross engine, get some high temperture "heat shrink" tubing from auto parts store. It comes in all diameters and pretty cheap.

I'm not crossing over the engine or anything. It's just the wires are about 6 3-4 inches away from hot pipes in several areas and honestly I think it looks unprofessional seeing wires.
