I'm waiting for this game's release. It's basically Minecraft with an actual battle system and quests to keep you busy. The animations are great and I love the voxel character models. The textures aren't better than Minecraft, but I like everything else. And it's being built in C++ rather than java.
Terraria meets Minecraft meets procedural quests (although they all seem to be go to X to kill Y amount of Z)… When I see new games pop out I wonder how much of it exists thanks to opportunism and how much to creativity. I guess it's something that happens with anything popular though.
If this whole new game genre deal were a computer experiment, I'd like to speed the simulation's speed by a factor of 1000 to see the final result(s) of all this. This game has awesome exploration, which Minecraft and Terraria couldn't achieve.
I love the movement system and how all the models look like they have baked textures. It looks so smooth.
For some reason that bird around 1:00 reminded me of Angry Birds.
This looks incredibly sexy. Do want.
Imho, it doesn't look very interesting gameplay-wise, as of right now. But the graphics look pretty great in motion, despite its simplicity.
I know that this game is still in its early stages, so I know it'll get better within the following months. But, right now, it just seems like one of those weird freeware games that you stumble accross randomly on the internet, by mistake, on some freeware site like Acid-play.com, and you'll only be addicted to it for like, one day, then never play it again.I was going to comment, but I think JID pretty much summed up what I was trying to say.
Yesss. Finally a Minecraft clone with style!
Though so far, I don't see much Minecraftiness, apart from the destructible terrain… so there's a chance it's going to be one of those largely pointless grinding RPGs after all.The guy making this just got hired by Mojang. lol
