Finally, Wii

Posted by HeroofTime55 on Jan. 23, 2007, 7:21 p.m.

I finally got a Wii today. I got the second to last one available in the store. (I didn't have school today because I went to an interview for college). Unfortunately, the only game I have is the Wii Sports disc that came with the thing. They didn't have Zelda.

For those who do have Zelda for the Wii, can you tell me, is there an alternate control scheme to use the Gamecube controller? There should be, considering it also came out for the 'cube, but I figured I might as well ask. Knowing Nintendo, they're likely to do something stupid, because that's Nintendo. Tons of awesome with a bit of stupid.

Anyway, I came on 64Digits for about 5 minutes through my Wii. I'm not too happy that password fields are not starred while you're typing with the crude keyboard. The image was blurry, zooming made the page way too wide, and scrolling was crude. I'd only use the browser in a total emergency.

Nonetheless, it's internet, on my TV. Which is still awesome.

Wii Sports: It was fun. At least, playing with others was. Wii Boxing got boring before the first fight ended.

I'm having an issue with the controller, the cursor is a bit below where I'm pointing. Which is probably because I have a large TV, and the sensor bar is located on top of the DVD player, which is in turn on top of the TV.

The only thing that really pisses me off is the fact that Nintendo used a different AV cable than it did for all the past systems. I had one connected to the back of my TV, and one that I could take with me, and I could hook up either my SNES, N64, or GCN to the thing. Now, if I ever want to take my Wii anywhere, I'm going to have to crawl behind the damn TV to plug it in again.

So, yeah. I'm happy.

Don't think so for the alternate control scheme. But why play the GC controls if you can use the wiimote?

Because I might want to. Especially if the Wii controls start malfunctioning, or if I feel like playing the "old fashioned" way.

You can't use the GC controller as far as I know. But if you don't like to aim with the wiimote you can change it so you can aim with the nunchuck joystick.

It's blurry because normal televisions run at 640x480 resolution. Get an HDTV and maybe it will change your mind. :P

The nunchuck will get stuck in one direction every once in a while. If it does happen, just turn off your Wii and start it back up.

no that happens if u move the joystick(and hold) before the game starts. You don't have to restart either, just unplug the nunchuck and plug it back in. And only retards break the wrist straps. I can't even imagine doing so.
