"Pass healthcare for ted"

Posted by HeroofTime55 on Aug. 27, 2009, 5:45 p.m.

…I can't even begin to talk about what is wrong with this idea. The new rallying cry for this healthcare bill which so many want to rush in without even looking at it, trying to emotionalize something which should be taken seriously and without emotion… And then there's the issue of certain people trying to circumvent the law by writing new laws that would allow an non-elected person to assume Ted's now vacant seat. Talk about no representation.

Our founding fathers gave their lives over far less than this. They are rolling over in their graves right now.

I agree that THAT is a dumb reason to pass the health care but overall I see nothing that I dislike in the health care plan. Also, if you want to see it, just google "USA Health Care Plan" and it should come up.

The only people I've heard that dislike the plan are far Right Wings who say that the plan is Socialist, but they give no real reason to either support the idea that it's Socialist or why that adding a bit of Socialism to the way we handle things is bad. I'm not a left or right wing person, I just pick what I believe is right and I believe that switching to a plan similar to Canada's will help America greatly.

Edit: Also, Capitalism hasn't really done too well for us so far… our economy was only good when we were at war. (WWI, WWII, 'Nam)

Edit 2: I'm not saying we should be Socialist, there aren't enough honest people in government for that, I'm just saying that maybe a combination of Capitalism and a little bit of Socialism will help things run smoother.

A law he himself put in four years ago. if you're going to bitch, at least get the whole story.

You must have good health insurance, and i'll bet no pre-existing conditions.

Here's the thing, I do NOT disagree with reforming healthcare; it is desperately needed. HOWEVER, the healthcare system is currently filled with corrupt, greedy individuals. Feeding them taxpayer dollars is not the solution. Healthcare can cost 1/5 of what it does if we remove the corruption. Why feed the fat bastards even more with MY tax money? It makes no sense. We need cheaper healthcare by removing corruption, not this redistribution of wealth. That's communism, socialism, and idiotic.

And hell, once healthcare becomes cheaper, perhaps people won't be so upset when you try to make them pay for your healthcare.

Attention United States of America:

The Solviet Union doesn't exist anymore. You can chill the fuck out now.

Also I get free healthcare and I'm not opressed yet. =/

Bringing up communism or socialism period is idiotic. Communism != socialism, so pick one. You can't have cake and ice cream.

If corruption were that easily removed, why haven't they done so already? Because for-profit health care providers have pushed out most competition, and since single-payer is a too drastic change, the discussion has centered on regulating the market with a public option.
