Sleep Paralysis II

Posted by HeroofTime55 on July 12, 2010, 4:04 p.m.

So it happened to me this morning. On accident, actually. Strange.

Basically, I wasn't expecting it, and I tried moving my arm, but it just wouldn't go, like it was tied down or something. I immediately say to myself, holy shit, because I know it's sleep paralysis.

Then I get this sensation through my whole body, that I'm just shaking, vibrating really hard and fast. Uncomfortable.

But the thing is, when it happened, I was in a reeeeally awkward position. Twisted all funny. So I forced myself out of it by wiggling my toes (Fingers were stuck) and something in my face which strangely I forget, and like a minute later I was out of it.

Woulda been hella scary if I didn't know exactly what was going on. Thank you internet for educatimating me.

So that's my story. It was quite interesting, and I'm gonna try to induce it again maybe tonight.

Yeah this happened to me a few times. got the exact same symptoms. It happened when my sleeping patterns were fucked up, but now that I sleep well (~6-7hours weekdays ~11-13hours weekends) it hasn't happened recently.

Also although interesting it's not best to try to do it again. There is a chance that it won't stop if you get better at it.

Funny, just last night I tried going to sleep when I had that ZAAAP thing again. Man that hurts a lot when you hear it, but afterwards you can't even remember it. It took me ~3-4 "ZAAP"s before I finally woke up for a minute, realized what it was, then fell back asleep until morning. I hate it when that happens, but now I know what it is at least.

Try going back to sleep when it happens. That might help.

Me, Scott_AW? Trying to go back to sleep results in the same loud, painful "noise." Its so weird because you know it happened, but you can't feel it after. So its not real pain at least. Ah the mysteries of the brain…

Oh, not you, I don't know what that's about. Demons?

I used to see periodical blinding white flashes of light for no apparent reason, sometimes with a sound to it. Its been awhile though.

Blinding flashes? For my mom, thats a "warning" sign of an oncoming migraine.

No pain or anything ever followed.

I get bright lights as well, Scott. I think it's synaesthesia of some type.

Is this like a 64digits version of the fainting game?
