Two Classic Titles, Beaten Again

I've been working through my game library and recently completed two games in my collection (again), but still worthwhile. The first of these two is Chrono Trigger.

In my opinions, RPG games of today haven't reached the pinnacle this game achieved. The depth of characters and storyline are both deeply moving and understandable. The cliche' 1-Dimensional character isn't present in here, albeit for a few of the boss characters and villains, but even the greater majority of them are all story-driven and creatively spectacular.

I love this game and the RPG genre in general. I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy I-IV, and even the 3D ones, but Chrono Trigger was definitely my favorite RPG of all time.

The other game that I recently beat was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This game was a bit of an adventure (definitely not the best in the series; that would be a Link to the Past [:)])

I love this game, hands down. Its expansive and was the right way to do an addition to a series: expanding the character depth, bringing deeper story, and bringing back a franchise worthy villain.

That being said, I'm curious:

Did anyone else find the damned Forest Temple as creepy as I do? I hate that place, so much. Its so damned…creepy. Dark, dank, echoes in the distance, poes…*shudders*

I guess I never read if there are rules about images in blogs, so if I ever break any rules regarding image size or blog length, I apologize; I ramble on endlessly.. :)

The funny thing is I've seen both games beaten in under an hour.

Chrono trigger beaten in under 30 mins NON NEWGAME+

I've seen Mario 64 exploited so much that they beat it (sped up) during a 3-4 minute song.

Also, LTTP is much better than it's given credit for.

Travis/Extravisual urges me to get Ocarina of Time since the only one i've played in the series is Wind Waker. that and N64 is all i ever play.

Nice selection. I have also finished these games and am currently playing CT on my phone right now.

@bout Chrono trigger:

DesertFox , if you are reading this.

I still think chrono trigger is an FF6 clone.

@bout Zelda:

I didn't find the forest temple creepy, heck I didn't even find it difficult. The water temple was completely frustrating, but the fight with dark link made up for it.

First time I fought Dark Link, I had as hard a time as I did with the rest of the temple. Someone said USE MEGATON HAMMER LOL and he blocks it nearly every time.

But later, I think it was easier.

I think FF7 is more of an FF6 clone than CT was, but there are a limited number of similarities. Both are awesome titles, FF7 was a bit disappointing to me :(

I still regret FF7 being my first RPG ever. I loved it, until I played better ones. :P

Chrono Trigger is epic; it's probably my favorite thing to come out of Square.

Yup, the Forest Temple was pretty creepy.

ZELDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Had to get that out of my system.

The Forest Temple is my favorite game level of all time and happens to be from my favorite game of all time.

You should give Majora's Mask a try. I find it disappointing that I'm the only living person who has ever played it.
