I've been seriously considering getting a Mac, since I just recently found out that GM is compatible with it, and that aside from making games in Game Maker, all I do is type documents and edit videos. Does anyone else here in the community use a Mac? I've always enjoyed their design but have avoided getting one because I thought that Mac's couldn't run GM, and that would have destroyed me.
…Now I wonder if Google Chrome is Mac compatible…Just checked, yes it is.Now I really want one. Buy me an iMac 27", 64D!As always I love you guys.Feel free to argue Macs vs. PC's below, if you like. I'm a fan of both :)
Also, flash stopped being pre-installed on some types of Macs IIRC. I forgot which ones, airs? I dunno.
Well, if you won't be doing any SERIOUS computer work, sure, get a Mac.
-_-
Because obviously computer science and physics research isn't real computer work.If you think installing flash is in any way difficult, then yes, get a mac.
Wait, uh-oh.THE WII HAZ BETTR GRAFX LOL
Mac OS X is a great operating system. It's really powerful. Yes, you're spending extra for hardware which is largely aesthetic. Go hackintosh if you're that money conscious, although you may run into troubles getting it setup.
The Mac version of GM isn't great, I've got it purely for porting my games and making them available for Mac. I'm just not comfortable doing that sort of work in a Mac environment. I feel I've more control on my PC. Also, GM8. But there's nothing stopping you dual booting or even VirtualBoxxing, although I'm not sure what sort of video problems you'll run into using GM on Virtual Box.If I had the money I'd buy a Macbook Pro. There's little you can do in Windows that you can't do with another operatin system, nowadays I rarely leave my Ubuntu desktop.
Okay, but when you get tired of running those same six programs, don't come right-clicking back to me for sympathy… because you won't be able to anyway.
but gm8 is… different
