There are more impressive vids of UE3 but they aren't good quality, this was the best quality that I could find.

It's definitely not a dumbed down version of CryEngine 2, for starters I'm pretty sure CE2 didn't have deferred rendering support (I may be wrong with that), whilst CE3 most certainly does. I honestly can't be bothered looking up a feature list for CE2, but CE3 has a crap load of features, more than I remember seeing on the CE2 papers a few years back.
It's most likely an upgraded version of CE2 (I somehow doubt it is a complete overhaul).
We have a word for that kind of person - wrong. Primarily, they're basing their opinion of an engine on a game running on it - comparing Crysis 1 and 2, and secondly because everyone who says Crysis 1 looks and runs better than Crysis 2 doesn't have eyes. CE3 is much more impressive than CE2, both in feature listings and in optimisation.
On a tangential note: Crysis 2 is looks amazing, definitely better than Crysis, except for one bit where I saw a rather obvious SSAO halo, which is just annoying to see in the game which is otherwise fantastic.
JID, that is CE2 on PC vs CE3 on console, that's never going to be fair, given the console versions have lesser hardware at their disposal.
JID, that's not a CE2 vs CE3 comparison, that's a CE2(on PC) vs CE3(on console) comparison. It's fairly obvious that even with lossily compressed, low resolution, low framerate footage, you're going to be able to tell the difference between a 5 year old engine on modern hardware, and a modern engine on 6 year old hardware.
