So, Super Meat Boy and Limbo

Posted by JID on Feb. 5, 2012, 6:02 p.m.

Old games I know, but I just bought them recently and I enjoy both.

But I like Limbo a shit ton more.

Super Meat Boy is a good game and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a challenging platformer that will take a few months to beat.

But sometimes, I feel the controls and sometimes broken platforming gets me killed more than anything.

Makes me wanna rage and shit and beat everyone on Team Meat with a fucking pipe.

Limbo, on the other hand is a brilliant and challenging game, but instead of requiring quick reflexes, it requires thinking and problem solving skills to solve some of the game's challenging puzzles.

I can't get enough of either and sometimes I can't decide if I should play the games or keep working on my V4D game, when I have the spare time.

Well, that's all I wanted to share. Try those games if you haven't already.

Welp, back to programming.

Limbo: Is fuckin' amazing, what a perfect little gem, and masterful example of good art direction mixed with solid gameplay and puzzles.

SMB: Pretty awesome, I dig the music and graphics, but damn are the controls a tough one. I get killed a lot because of it, but still a fun game, brutally challenging, but nowhere near the level of punishment that Bit.Trip Runner dishes out.

I think Bit.Trip Runner was more fun, overall.

It was certainly for appealing to my short timeframes.

I have Bit.Trip Runner on my desktop, got it from the Indie Humble Bundle Qwilder gave me a while back.

Just haven't installed it yet.

I haven't even seen how the game plays before, at least I think.

Maybe time for me to look it up on youtube. :p

The first few sections are epic, and the music is good too. Hell, I got the soundtrack haha.

But at the end it just gets insane, and it has NO remorse on even the slightest of fuckups.

I'm stuck there actually, haven't played it since Dec.

I adore Limbo. Super Meatboy is okay, I think I would've liked it better if I hadn't played Jumper all those years before it, I've kinda had my fill of that type of game.
