So, Super Meat Boy and Limbo

Posted by JID on Feb. 5, 2012, 6:02 p.m.

Old games I know, but I just bought them recently and I enjoy both.

But I like Limbo a shit ton more.

Super Meat Boy is a good game and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a challenging platformer that will take a few months to beat.

But sometimes, I feel the controls and sometimes broken platforming gets me killed more than anything.

Makes me wanna rage and shit and beat everyone on Team Meat with a fucking pipe.

Limbo, on the other hand is a brilliant and challenging game, but instead of requiring quick reflexes, it requires thinking and problem solving skills to solve some of the game's challenging puzzles.

I can't get enough of either and sometimes I can't decide if I should play the games or keep working on my V4D game, when I have the spare time.

Well, that's all I wanted to share. Try those games if you haven't already.

Welp, back to programming.

Osmos(you mean Osmos and not Osmosis, right?) and Jamestown were included in the humble bundle Qwilder gave me.

Jamestown, I haven't even tried yet, but it's on my desktop and I was just staring at it a second ago.

And Osmos I played once, and I was hooked for about an hour then never played it again. D:

Damn, this blog has reminded me how I haven't played any of the Humble Bundle games Qwilder gave me, for very long or not at all. D:

I need to get caught up on that someday.

Nation Red was cool, played the trial or demo or whatever you want to call it, on Steam.

Night Sky, I'm not even sure if I've ever heard of it.

Lol

Jamestown is a bullet hell shmup

Continue to stare at it

Jamestown may have been that game someone recommended to me a while back. Is it co-op? If so, I want it.

It's local co-op of up to 4 people. Meaning someone could use the keyboard, someone could use a mouse, and two other people with controllers. Doubt that'll ever happen for that game.

And yes, it is a bullet hell, but an interesting one at that, which is why I like it.

I also meant Osmos, yes lol.

Night Sky is like… it's a platformer puzzle game, not really heard of, but it's really good, and calming. I got it in Humble Bundle #4, haven't played one game from Bundle #5, which is Anomaly. Meh, so many games to play.

Also, Super Meat Boy is pretty good.

It's also fairly easy (Light World), up until you hit The End.

Then it's hell. Ironic that the Hell chapter isn't quite hell.

I still really want to get Super Meat Boy and Castle crashers. I just never have the MS points to buy them.

XBL Rewards is your friend.

I got MS points to buy Super Meat Boy the other day, simply by searching with Bing for a while.

And I got Limbo today by buying a MS points card at my local Gamestop. :D

I was thinking about getting Castle Crasher several times, but I don't see anyone playing it online anymore. :(

I'll still probably get it evenually.

I love Limbo. Wondering what's going to pop out of that humongous shadow was both fun and a little scary, even if it's just moving silhouettes and not very scary. Didn't play my 360 for a fucking week after I beat it, though. Stupid endings are stupid.

I haven't tried Super Meat Boy. I think I'm going to, though…

Yeah, I already know how Limbo ends, I spoiled it for myself a while back because I thought I'd never buy the game. :/

When I first saw the spider I almost shitted my pants, especially on the part where you get trapped in one of its webs and it gets you and sticks you in a web on the ceiling. And the second part I almost shitted myself is when it starts fucking chasing you while you are still tangled in its web, hopping away for your life. D:

Also, Super Meat Boy is a good game, but be prepared for frustration more frustrating than any frustration you have ever felt before.
