I've officially completed highschool now. I'm so extremely relieved that's all done with.
Since that chapter of my life is complete, now, i'm struggling to find out what i want to do next.I've been thinking about taking some game design courses or whatever during the summer, but I'm not completely sure what I want to do yet. That said, I know that I don't want to go to college right away. I want to find out what I really want to do with my life exactly, so I don't jump the gun on anything. While I try to figure out what to do, I'm going to try to work extremely hard on a few games over the summer. Hopefully, I'll have some decent ideas for what I want to do next. I'm really confused and anxious about what I'm going to do now since I've graduated, but I really want to actually do something with myself, and I'll try to focus on what I want out of the next few years.
I've gotten more money from college than anything. Only thanks to a few small loans, financial aid, and grants, have I been able to fuel my gaming addiction the past two years.
survivingcompleting high school though :UThere are only two things you can do after graduating: continue your education or get a job. Pick one.
Neither.
I want to be a lazy sack of shit.Congratulations, man.
And yeah. I decided to do the break thing… It's been like 3 years.I took a year off. Would have been much longer if my mom hadn't of went behind my back and did it all for me.
To paraphrase the great Dylan Moran,
"Why do teenagers take a year off? They haven't done anything yet."Sometimes a break is a smart choice. Nothing over a few months at least.
A semester off might work, (college may take 4 1/2 years anyway) but in answer to Rob, I was able to skip some of the easy introduction courses. But some of the somewhat harder ones I still learned from other students about best practices in programming, and about the compiler and tips and tricks.
Actually, I probably learned half of the useful knowlege from fellow students. Helped out a lot.
