This was one of the major things that was still holding me back from saying "guys, xbox isn't as bad as everyone makes it sound".
The reasons behind their choices make a bit of sense, as far as how they were hoping to shape the game industry. An xbox engineer went on 4chan (/b/ too, I think, not /g/) and explained some interesting stuff. Here's an article with the quotes:http://www.neowin.net/news/anonymous-xbox-engineer-explains-drm-and-microsofts-xbox-one-intentionsI agree with xbox's attempts to be more of a steam-style platform, and force the cost of buying games downwards, and I hope that's how the market goes. I'm a Sony fan, though, so if I were to get a console, I'd go PS4 hands down. Most xbox "exclusives" go to the PC eventually anyway. Now I'll probably get one 2 years after launch instead of 5 years
I only wish what FSX said about exclusives going PC was true. Fact is, most of them do indeed stay to their console. Halo CE and Halo 2 are on PC, but not all the others like I had hoped, same goes with the first Gears of War.
I'm still sticking with last gen (current gen) and PC for the next 4-5 years. But yayyy, Microsoft must have put their ears on for the first time!I also like that they're pulling a Playstation Plus with the two free games a month thing, let's just hope they don't rip people by giving away shitty free games like PS Plus often does.So far so good.PS: The newest Xbox 360 model is on One… get it? It looks like shit.Well, this makes choosing the next console I own something I actually have to think about now.
Ferret is back! :D
Wrong Blog, mate.
