Wow. I guess it's been a while.
It seems that people are falling apart all around me. I, who was once a roiling cauldron of mood swings and depressive, fatalistic thoughts, have somehow become the most solid object in sight. I am a rock. I am an island. People somehow have come to think that they can depend upon me. It is a weird feeling.I'm on summer vacation. The world would be my oyster, but I don't have money or a car. I do, however, have a computer recording system and some nice instruments, because my brothers are back from college. So I have written and recorded some things. This is one of them, which continues in the vein of my fascination with robots:http://www.64digits.com/users/Jabberwock/robot_consciousness.zipIt is not a serious song. It is not a too terribly good song (there's a horrendous key change on the chorus). But it was written and recorded in only a couple of hours. And my singing and musicianship are much improved from the last song I showed the world.Thank you, thank you, and goodnight.Reading: Beowulf, trans. Hey! It's Jabberwock!
Ah yes, the singing is much better on this song. Actually, quite good. What do you do for percussion? Is it live?
Ah, the Seamus Heaney translation of Beowulf. Read that a couple months ago.And OK Computer- a bunch of local musicians are getting together in my area to play it from cover to cover. I was wicked excited until I learned that it was a 21+ event. And XTC. My favorite stuff of theirs is when they're playing as the Dukes of Stratosphere. That's really, really good singing. I actually really loved the song. A lot better than a lot of popular musicians. Keep it up!
Holy shit Jabberwock! I only started my computer before going to work to put one album on iPod, and now I have one more song to transfer.
Drum samples are great. Good melodies, good little details with guitars. And your singing… It's FAR better than in Robots Are Taking Control.Keep them coming!Wow, thanks guys.
@polyman - ha, my rhythm is nowhere near that good. This is a programmed rhythm track, but the samples I used are actual drums. Also, you need to check out Elliott Smith's music, as I have come to believe he was possibly the best single songwriter of our era. Both the albums I mentioned are good; he has others, too, but I've not heard them.Radio Head-OK Computer is the greatest.I can listen to it everyday, but I hardly listen to any music at all.Is something wrong with me?
Sounds good, nothing special but still good. Wish I could sing like that but I can only play guitar.
Simon and Garfunkel? No way!
Nice vocals. :D
