js13k (2022)

Oh boys, I definitely must click this yet another oversized link to see what kind of garbage Jani has made this time

I did it. I made a game for this year's js13k. Just like last year, yes, but this year I had some serious problems with my motivation, I "cancelled" the game at least half a dozen times, but somehow I was able to finish it. And after a lot of working, reworking the concept, recreating the levels etc., I was able to make something that should be at least decent fun. I hope.

The thing where I failed, though, was that I took this compo way too seriously, which caused a lot of unnecessary stress and I kind of forgot to have fun. I don't know why I want to get a good ranking so badly, I'm not very competitive person and I don't even care about the prizes. Oh well.

The source code is naturally on Github: https://github.com/jani-nykanen/dying-dreams. The total filesize ended up being around 12,700 bytes, so I had, what, 400 bytes left?

Gave it a play, got stuck on one of the later puzzles (I'll blame being completely drained from two consecutive office days, had no problem solving left in me by then)

Really well done game for the 13k limit! Makes me regret not getting anything done for this myself a little.
