My New Motto

Previously, the original motto of "Sapphire Blood Studios" (now just Studio, without the "s") was Creativity Through Conflict. Basically, what it means is that, between all team members with such different outlooks, attitudes, standards and ideals, we can take advantage of those differences by challenging each other to constantly improve and develop. We hoped, as a result, that through this "conflict", greater "creativity" will grow. It worked. However, we should have known that such a thing would not last (read my first blog entry for more details).

A sad past aside, I've thought up a new motto for the "Sapphire Blood Studio" team name. It will be Diligent Passion, representing the two most important factors for creating and completing a game. Passion represents the fiery drive that boils your blood. It is this that allows you to start on a massive undertaking. However, that inner fire will eventually burn out, without perseverance. Diligence symbolizes the sapphire - the ice cold determination and quiet, steadiness that allows you to resist all pitfalls, step over all obstacles and eventually bringing you to complete your creation. Thus, Diligent Passion is now the literal principle - the motto - of "Sapphire Blood Studio". In this metaphorical dance of fire and ice, balance is achieved to complete the artistic path from beginning to end.

How does that sound?

I personally consider myself an artist and not a programmer, although I'm majoring in Computer Science. I treat programming as a tool, like the painting brush of the visual artist.

Are you an artist, seeing games as an expression of your ideals? Or are you more of a programmer, an architect of a virtual world?

PS: Over here, it's past midnight, so it's technically a new day. I'm not stepping over any rules, right? =D

Your banner uses a commercial font. I'm having my doubts you legally own it.
Oh, right. I forgot that it was originally, legally purchased by an old teammate of mine. Now that I'm out of the team, the rights should no longer apply. I'll change it soon and remove it from all my works so far.

Thanks for the notice.

How can you own a font? That seems ridiculous to me.

Uh… you make the font… you own it…

Sounds logical to me.
