A glorious return for 2011

Well, it appears that we actually got 64digits back before new year =D We should have a goal of only 7 days of downtime in 2011 =p

So anyway, the minecraft server was only up for part of the time 64d was down, so I ended up getting some actual work done in my free time.

GameGame

I stopped talking about this for a couple months, but now its back. The first alpha demo release is sometime before 2011, so not much longer to wait. It wont be too great at this point, just some basic multiple racing and single player time trials (just programmed them today/yesterday). For now, I just plan on fixing up some minor bugs with the multiplayer racing. I don't think I'm going to add any more levels/features before the release.

Game Plague

V4 has entered the development phase. I've got big plans this time around, including some changes to the core ideas of the site. Reviews and commercial games will hold much more importance in V4, as well as "glogs" which is the best name I could come up with for a game log. Gamelog is already taken =[

Slightly unrelated, but I added a mobile option for my pyco shoutbox recently =]

Christmas

I had an extremely excellent christmas this year, I will list everything interesting here.

$135

DSi

Flingsmash (with wii motion+ controller)

RuneScape: Betrayal at Falador (book)

Donkey Kong Country Returns

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (game of the year edition, pc)

Geometry Wars: Galaxies (wii)

The Conduit

No More Heroes (wii)

Mushroom Men (wii)

Various snacks/candy

A star wars lego thing

A flashlight

I'm setting aside $100 towards a 3DS =D

edit: cant believe I forgot this but:

DKCR is nice, but in my opinion, not really addicting. You'll find one or two control quirks that can really ruin your day, and if you're not good at platforming with the Wii remote, you'll have a pretty rough time.

But other than that, it was a great game. Well worth the money.

I got JustCause2 but the stoopid Parachute wont work so I can't even get past the first stage.
90% sure this is an antipiracy message, the solution involves replacing sound files or something, can't remember, haven't installed the game for awhile. The game is awesome btw. :)

I know, I watched a friend play and told everyone I wanted a copy.

I guess I should try reinstalling.

Heh, I just had to chop off a bit at the beginning and end.

As for DKCR not being addictive, I've never really found donkey kong games to be addictive so thats not a dissapointment =p

That's true. But the problem with it is that it's pretty hard to get back up and play it again.

Or that might be part of the reason it's still fun. Even now, I don't look back and think I want to play it again. Postgame stuff is way too hard. Plus I'm not fond of my Wii, since all the games for it suck these days. Maybe Zelda. Maybe.
