Update(8-17-12):
So preseason week is almost over now. I've been here since Monday and this is the first time I've been in my dorm during the day. Band has us doing stuff from 7:30AM to 11PM this week, but after that it's just 2 hours for 3 days a week, plus football games and etc. Band's actually been a ton of fun. It's exhausting, my back hurts, and I'm allergic to the field we march on (I'll talk more of this later). Unlike Highschool, everyone here actually wants to be here so everyone tries and is really good. Somehow, I'm already one of the better marchers. As for playing, I can't really tell because we're ridiculously loud, but I think I'm one of the loudest in my section of 17. It's weird being a freshman again.Class starts Monday. I'm not looking forward to this because while I'll be less busy, band is a lot more fun than physics. I almost never studied in HS so this will be a huge change for me I'd imagine. I shouldn't be too busy to have to leave here though, so I guess I'll stay.My suite somehow became the hangout room for the other engineers in our building. I came back from practice one day and there were around 20 kids just hanging out here. It's pretty cool, except when I need sleep like I do now (Somehow, I've been running on less than 6 hours of sleep this whole week).I'm allergic to something here, I'd just assume it's the grass field we march on. I've just been getting normal allergy symptoms, but my second night here I woke up at 5:30AM because I could hardly breathe at all. Fortunately I got better, because I had no way to get medication for it. Since then my symptoms have gotten better, thank God, so I guess I'm getting immune or something.Picture time!
This is the common area of my suite (I have 5 suitemates). We've since moved the furniture, and it looks different with 20 people here. This is just the table and the door in the common area. This picture does not work for some reason, at least for me.
First, and the main point of this blog, is I leave for college tomorrow at 7 AM. Therefore, this blog will be rushed as I am pretty much packing whilst typing. Anyway, I don't know what to expect, so there's a chance I might not be around much until winter. I'm going to Baylor University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and I will also be in the marching band so I'll be busy. Baylor is in Waco, TX, and is 2 hours away from where I live.Guess I need to put up some content so this is front page worthy.I guess being on my own will be weird. I don't like the idea of having a roommate. I suppose this all should be a little overwhelming, but I'm not phased much, except that I'm leaving my friends. I said goodbye to my best friend about a half hour ago, and that was no fun… The only 2 things I really care about are friends and music, so, yeah.Speaking of music, I hope they have a recording studio or something there so I can show you guys what I sound like. I know I'll have a marching instrument (Though my good mouthpiece won't fit on it because it's a smallshank instrument), but I realllllly hope they give me a concert instrument. A good one.Anyway, I won't have my xbox there, so I guess the only multiplayer games I'll be able to play are Terraria, Minecraft, and TF2. I might buy some more games since my PC library is lacking, oh well.Guess that's all. Bye everyone, hopefully will be back soon.Edit: I have 1 roommate, and 4 suitemates. Wish I had my own room.Edit2: If you go to one of their football games, you might see me! They're kinda really good.Edit3: I also got a 4 on the Music Theory AP test. Got a 5 on nonaural and a 3 on aural. I did not study:) So yeah. Didn't get me any college credit because I'm not a music major, but I don't care. No one at my highschool had ever passed the test, though 2 or 3 others did this year so I'm not too special. I love theory./ragequit
I didn't know you were an engineering student, Rob.
I think Stevenup's just jealous, Juurian. He's probably one of those racist, odorous Science people who never talks to anyone.
Anyway, band's keeping me super busy during preseason week so I might not have pictures up until Friday or Saturday.
Hey, Seleney and Shinsei went to Baylor.
Woah, they are now cool. Guess I should talk to them sometime.
Anyway, I updated the blog (Didn't feel it necessary to make a new blog).Rob: You must be an engineering student
