devPort

Remember before Christmas I wanted to make a new community that isn't dead and actually had some real developers? Well, here's that blog:

Flash forward to now, and devPort is ready for release. At least a beta release.

devPort

devPort is my goal to make a community of developers who are actually interested in learning new things from other people and examples all while having fun in an interactive environment.

Many of the basic features of the site are completed and we already have plans for new ones which we will be working on very soon. I'm sure there are some bugs though, so let us know of any by making a blog or posting here.

Looks good. I hope it turns into something we can all benefit from.

A few suggestions:

-The nav bar could use some life. When I hover over a link (such as 'Home' or 'Examples') It'd be nice if it showed the underline or changed its color, but only do one, not both, because it'd look like the sublinks (Top Rated, C++, Java, etc) and in my opinion they look bad. I think only turning them white would do.

-The login box could use some love, there has to be a better way to integrate it into the navbar instead of using that rounded rectangle.

-The litter rectangles that hover over the newest games are nice, but sometimes with that transparency the text is hard to read (for example, the Cannoneers game, I had to get into the game to figure out its name)

-For some reason I feel a lack of seriousness while visiting your website, although I don't know, perhaps it is just because it is beta and empty right now.

-What's up with that register page?

That's all I got to say for now, but before I leave I wanted to ask something. What are you coding that website in= Are you using a framework or coding everything yourself? I'm curious :)

Everything has been coding from scratch, except for a few plugins from other developers.

Register page had a linking problem to the CSS, all fixed now.

Thank you for the many suggestions!
