My Texture Packs (over 100 textures)

Posted by KooKoo on June 4, 2011, 12:53 p.m.

Hi there :)

I've made some texture packs long ago and post them on GMC and GMG. The funny thing is that the files of them is uploaded on 64digits, but I never made a blog for them here. So here it is:

There are currently five packs available. They consist of over 100 seamless textures. Seamless means that if you tile these textures, there won't be any breaking line between them.

I use a texture generator software called Genetica. Most of the textures here are the same textures which come with that software, but in different formations. Currently I'm learning that software, and I thought it would be nice if I post some of my works. They may be useful for you. So here it is:

Texture Pack #01:

Texture Pack #04:

Texture Pack #04 Read Me file:

http://www.64digits.com/download.php?name=Read_Me_04.txt&id=25857

This pack consists of 1 seamless stony ground texture and its relevant effect maps.

A rendered ground created using the texture and its effect maps in 3ds max:

As you can see, by combining the texture and its effects maps it is possible to create cool effects (No additional polygon is added to make the ground look realistic!). Unfortunately GM doesn't support effect maps, but you can use them in ultimate3d (or some other 3d applications).

I've seen KooKoo's textures before, they're really good.

And… texture-y.

KooKoo 13 years, 5 months ago

Thanks a lot :)

I didn't get what "texture-y" means… may you explain?

Alert Games 13 years, 5 months ago

I think ive seen the textures before, but either way i didnt have them, but now i do! :)

You are welcome. :)

It's so awesome to meet old friends (even as old as GMS) here, isn't it? =D

Alert Games 13 years, 5 months ago

:o Looks like these could be rather useful.

By "effect maps", do you mean things like normal maps?

KooKoo 13 years, 5 months ago

Thanks. :)

Yes. Not only normal maps, but height maps (bump maps) and colour maps are included too.

*Only pack #4 and #5 have effect maps…

P.S. Hey Alert Games, you made particle designer right? :)

I could put these to some good use. Thanks for sharing.

My gut wants me to download these, but my brain says "why would you need textures when you usually draw everything yourself?"

Do cartoonist regularly use textures. I would love to see specific instances.
