The Elder Scrolls Online

So, The Elder Scrolls Online. I'm pretty sure everyone thought this would happen eventually. At first I was pretty skeptical about this game, but as more information has been released, I can honestly say that this is the game I'm looking forward to the most in the near future.

One of the big things that I was most upset about is that MMOs are usually in third person, and the Elder Scrolls has always been a first person series. Apparently, you have the option to play in first person as well in the Elder Scrolls Online. That made me as giddy as a schoolgirl.

Also, hasn't everyone wanted an Elder Scrolls Game that took place in all of Tamriel? I sure did. This is now reality.

Here's a video about it:

What do you guys think? Looking forward to it as much as I am?

They can afford to take their time.

Nearly every game they put out sells over 500,000 copies.

And that's an ass number.

We all know how high it really goes.
I dunno how many copies Max Payne 3 sold, but I know it bombed hard. so hard that Rockstar Vancouver had to close down. Shame too, Max Payne 3 seemed somewhat underrated and really didn't generate the hype it deserved, imho.

I partially blame that on Rockstar being the de-facto open world game company. Anything linear comes as a disappoint to newer fans I think.

I messed up on that, so I edited. Gawd, all these damn collaborations, yknow what. Just Cause 2 and Sleeping Dogs were great.

Rockstar should make a TES rip-off. Just to bring this thread full circle.

The last rockstar game I've actually played last was GTAIV. Oh, and how disappointing it was…

EDIT: Kilin, my character's name is "Goldarus", and I play on a PVE server.

i never finished gtaiv's singleplayer. In fact I really disliked it. Especially due to the fact that there were no checkpoints during missions and when you die, you had to spawn on the opposite end of the map and drive all the way back. >:(

I loved mp though, I still play pretty frequently to this day.

If GTAV is anything like I hope it'll be- GTA3+San Andreas+Good gfx - then I think it'll turn out great. I've stayed as far away as I possibly could from GTAIV.

@JID There will be a sequel though, it's not even a question of "if". If a big-publisher game sells well, they make a sequel. Take 2's policy is to wait 4-6 years between sequels, besides sports.

Max Payne 3 doesn't count. It took 10 years to release because Max Payne 2 did NOT sell well, at all.

…there will probably new IPs at the start of this gen though, which is always a good thing

I never said there wouldn't be. I'm simply saying their next game most likely won't be a sequel. and saying that take 2's policy is a 4-6 year hiatus between sequels is pretty much what i just said.

I didn't know that Max Payne 2 sold poorly though, that makes me even more sad. ;_;

I think there may be a decent possibility that there might be a new IP created for this gen before these console life cycles are over, and then they could develop a version to transfer over to next gen as well. but there might not be too good of a chance of that happening

*Raises hand*

Still waiting on that DOOM 4.
