Windows 7

Windows 7 is coming! Well, not for a while; late in 2009, more like 2010. So far, there are many improvements, both in the GUI/graphics, and internally. Programs made for Windows 7 specifically won't be backwards compatible with other versions of Windows, but they will be much faster. The reason for this is because of multiple library's that must be loaded into memory.

The standard applications (such as Paint) are getting a new interface: the Office 2007 Ribbon. I personally think that this is a big improvement over the old ones. The calculator also is MUCH different, and this really needed to happen. The old interface got really dull after a few versions of Windows…

Another technology which will be included in Windows 7 is known as "Multi-Touch". This is basically a touchscreen monitor, that can handle multiple points of pressure. With Windows 7 and future Microsoft applications, this will be implemented for some cool features. This offers many possibilities, and Multi-Touch LCDs should come around in time for Windows 7, and for only about 20% more than a standard LCD!

Yeah the basic applications like paint really needed upgrades, the new zoom options in vista are nice but that new design looks awesome.

I'm really hoping that Windows 7 is a great improvement, just like IE8.

True, he new IE is better than previous versions, but it still blows and google is hoping to take over the market with Chrome(doubt it will happen though).

I like the "Mojave Experiment" they created. I just watched some of the videos and all it does is prove they just took ideas from other systems(Windows Media Center was not created for Vista, it came out with XP, dicks) and made simple things even simpler(automatic photo stitching? really?). I wish they had gotten someone who actually knew something about computers in one of those interviews, they still wouldn't have been impressed.

Microsoft is trying really hard to get Windows Vista SE out soon, they're targeting gold by the first half of 2009.

So, Windows 7 will be just a Vista with some tweaks and a few more features that if it wasn't for Vista's uber bad reputation, they would have included them all in updates.

It's the other way around, Josea, vista was given features from windows 7
