Windows 7

Windows 7 is coming! Well, not for a while; late in 2009, more like 2010. So far, there are many improvements, both in the GUI/graphics, and internally. Programs made for Windows 7 specifically won't be backwards compatible with other versions of Windows, but they will be much faster. The reason for this is because of multiple library's that must be loaded into memory.

The standard applications (such as Paint) are getting a new interface: the Office 2007 Ribbon. I personally think that this is a big improvement over the old ones. The calculator also is MUCH different, and this really needed to happen. The old interface got really dull after a few versions of Windows…

Another technology which will be included in Windows 7 is known as "Multi-Touch". This is basically a touchscreen monitor, that can handle multiple points of pressure. With Windows 7 and future Microsoft applications, this will be implemented for some cool features. This offers many possibilities, and Multi-Touch LCDs should come around in time for Windows 7, and for only about 20% more than a standard LCD!

Nice, not a fan of all windows latest issues but I love the OS itself. I just hope version 7 is better than Vista. I mean it may look awesome but that does really make up for all the issues that come with it.

I read up a little bit about this, seems like they are also trying to improve performance speeds; hey maybe version 7 can beat XP in the race that Vista never won.

speed and compatability are some of their goals.

Microsoft have 1 goal. Cash. Thats it.

EDIT : Lets foil their plans by pirating the interwebs.

There are no annoying "Are you sure?" messages like in Vista
Like KaBob799 said, the UAC can be disabled in Vista. In Windows 7, though, the User Account Control will be much less intrusive and annoying.

So it'll only be slightly intrusive and annoying? That's good.

geez, vista haters… COUGHGMLJOSEACOUGH… but he hates everything.

if you have a decent machine vista runs great on it, 64bit at least does. i haven't crashed once on vista 64bit (excluding when i was overclocking)

I'm not a Vista hater, I in fact like it after SP1. I bought a laptop recently, and I use it all the time instead of the old crappy XP.

And everyone in the planet knows already that if you want to go 64bit with a Microsoft OS, Vista is the way to go.

josea isn't a hater because when he hated it he had used it properly.

"Programs made for Windows 7 specifically won't be backwards compatible with other versions of Windows"

So GM7 still works in it?

I'm alittle confuzzled =S

Yes GM7 should work on it, their goal is to have anything that works on vista work on windows 7.

As far as I can tell, w7 will have new stuff, and if you make stuff for it, it won't work on earlier systems.

Good move, apple did it, and they've only gotten stronger since.
