Meh. I figured, i wanted to open up something on GM. I haven't used it in so long for a serious application, i'm laughing at myself. But i'm doing so with good reasoning. I don't know a bit of GML, so i can't make these great games like everyone else… I can never get my hands on a good set of sprites, and i can't create my own, as i suck… And finally, well… I just can't do anything right with it… Heh. I guess i should start learning, eh?
Thoughts, Anyone?
i'm thinking of tiramisu chocolates dipped in white wine right now…
but if you really want to, i say go for it. it's really not that hard to learnWell, i was intending to start learning..
That sounds really good, Chigger…. DAmn it. Now i'm hungrier. MUST EAT CHEESE NIPS.heh, same happened to me when I didn't know GML, it scuked. After learning bit by bit GML it was easier. Do u take any programming classes in school? GML is pretty like most of the "real" languages. when I started to learn QBASIc at scool parallely I satrted to learn GML why? because when you learn what a variable is, the logic structures like if, the loops and that stuff you only need to adapt to each language and their syntax.
i learned basic at age 8, and gml isn't really that much of a step higher, so you should be fine
My school is retarded: It doesn't have Programming Classes. just Computer lcasses.
Yeah, mine doesn't have programming classes, but I think we get to do some programming. I dunno. But if we do, I know it will be insanely easy for me. Heh.
well, we have too computer calsses, they suck, but starngely they taught us some basic BASIc and Visual Basic. But heck, almost nothing, who uses FoxPro as databases?
I've never even heard of FoxPro…
I know a fair bit of GML, real basic stuff. The way I did it: think up a cool game to make and just use GML whenever possible to add cool stuff to the game. Along the way, whenever I got stuck, I just asked a specific person I know who knows their stuff. In my case: Melee-Master lol.
lol i dont use code very often either and look at some of my games (ps just look up stuff in the help file its really useful)
