Meh. I figured, i wanted to open up something on GM. I haven't used it in so long for a serious application, i'm laughing at myself. But i'm doing so with good reasoning. I don't know a bit of GML, so i can't make these great games like everyone else… I can never get my hands on a good set of sprites, and i can't create my own, as i suck… And finally, well… I just can't do anything right with it… Heh. I guess i should start learning, eh?
Thoughts, Anyone?
I suppose that's an interesting prospect, the Help Files. haha.
Take all the old games you have made and convert them into GML using the stickied topic by AblachBlackrat in novice Q&A.
Funny thing: I've only made ONE game in my entire career with Game Maker. Yeah.
meh, I've only ever made one game in GM as well. That really shouldn't be the marker for how good of a programmer you are, especially considering I own up almost everyone on GMC in multiplayer programming and game design theory.
—–As for sprites, there is a program I use called CHARAS.EX if you need simple, small human sprites for top-down games. For other things, you can always borrow sprites from RPG Maker, or go to the graphics portion of the forum. The only problem with the graphics area is that you never get what you want.Sweet, Thanks, Korberos. Charas.ex is awesome.
I avoid using Charas.ex. They always look the same to me, and i don't always want them that size. Meh.
I don't tend to have a problem with size.
hey, try this! make a thousand sticky notes saying everything you can use on gml. as in, like, instance_create(x,y,imadoofus) on each sticky note. *snickers and imagines him literally doing just that*
