Sorry about posting two blog entries in the one day, just wanted to let everyone know that
THERE IS A NEW DANSE MACHINA DEMOget it here:http://64digits.com/games/index.php?cmd=view_game&id=673Please post comments/ratings! It isn't a huge update, but it polishes things up a lot. The tutorial level has been REDONE, so its almost like playing a new level [^^]And I'll work hard on the first level tonight, and try to get it out to you soon! But Love Actually is on soon and I just go all to pieces watching it, love it sooo much [^^] < I love that emoticon too!Anyway, have fun guys!EDIT: I've also submitted Starscape: Asteroids. Its an asteroids game, with a twist that will keep you playing for ages!
Alright! =D I'll check it out and get back to you later.
Oh, the lag, the LAG! The new lighting engine just rendered the game practically unplayable on my modest 1.5Ghz,256MB PC. Turning it off is like turning off half the gameplay. Is it possible to make it so that you can switch between the old and the new lighting engines?
Aside from that, I like the new graphics. The teaser for the first mission is already presenting the how interesting the story may be. Good dialogue-writing. I also see that there is a decent variety of weapons. Not bad. :)If it weren't for the worst lag I've ever experienced in all GM games I've ever played, this will easily be one of my most anticipated games.*drool* Sweeeeet.
Sorry Joewoof but that lighting engine is staying. It IS faster, but the shadows really make it chug. Try just switching off the shadows. I think I'll make them off by default actually, since most computers have problems running the game :P
But thanks for the comments!OH! I think I know why its slower. The background music is outsourced to the media player, and running the game with media players seems to make it go really slow. I'll have a look at different media types :P
Use ogg and tsg1zzn's supersound DLL.
Aesome! :D Lag here too tough. :(
You think I haven't already tried switching off the shadows? I've done it, with no noticeable difference. The game runs smoothly with everything off though. That probably means that the music is the bigger culprit.
Anyway, flashback, what do those DLLs do and where do you get them?Awesome! I'm downloading it now.
Watch decent movies… You do realize X-Men 2 was on at the same time? lol
