M Chronicles II

Wee! Okies, I thought I'd go on a rant and post a few random tidbits about me and the stuff I get up to.

Sooooo…

Well, Some of you may have noticed I occassionally write poetry. As well as that, I enjoy writing stories and non-computer game engines. So I put lots of pens to paper. My works have included about a dozen (varying quality) poems, a number of short stories (a bit of fan fiction and drama… Don't really know why, cos I never read that stuff [^^]) and two games. One of them is a Rome-esque tabletop game, and the other is a role-playing game.

Boring stuff. Well, maybe it wouldn't be that boring if I actually posted some of that stuff. So I will… maybe… someday.

I'm a smoker and happy with my decision. Although I'm starting to think quiting is a good idea. Seriously though, so much bullshit is flying around over smoking - from BOTH sides - that its almost impossible to find out what's really going on. In Australia, a new quit-smoking campaign started up, with pictures of nasty things on cigarette packets instead of just verbal warnings. Fine, but I'd like to know how much these people smoke before their children need a respirator because of passive smoking. Its friggin stupid.

Apparently a "study" (probably Indian) revealed that passive smokers are hit worse than actual smokers. WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT! For starters, actual smokers inhale PASSIVE SMOKE from their own cigarettes anyway…

Oh, and there's a TV ad, where this smoker gets his leg amputated because of GANGRENE. Okay, fine. Except gangrene isn't caused by smoking. Its caused by infection, or (and this is what makes it plausible) lack of blood flow. Now, the thing is, in order to smoke enough to get gangrene from lack of blood flow to extremities, your heart would have stopped, and your lungs would collapse. The guy was probably a smoker yeah, but he was also most likely diabetic - which can easily cause gangrene.

Okay, sorry about that long rant there. I gotta stop doing that.

I like a drink with friends, preferably while kicking back and doing nothing. I haven't had a drink for some time, because I'm broke, but I'm working on it.

Movie review time. The Da Vinci Code was a GOOD MOVIE. I wish the critics would shut the f*ck up about it. In all honesty, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, as far as an adaptation goes. Half of the actors need oscars for it (Paul Bettany and Ian McKellan were particularly good) the soundtrack is good, sets were great, the story hugs the book so much it's probably trying to smother it while it sleeps… I hate it when critics bag good movies. And the whole religious thing is blown so far out of proportion. IT'S A FRIGGIN MOVIE/BOOK. GET. OVER. IT. Nobody is saying it's true, its just a little bit of fun.

It isn't even really that good of a book.

I'm getting a new graphics card in a couple days. I've already ordered it. Its a Radeon X800XL - the best you can get for an AGP card (radeon that is, Nvidia just confuses me with their naming conventions, although ATI are almost as bad I suppose) If you've actually read all of this, I congratulate you, and you get a prize. Let me know you actually read my rants, and I'll make sure you're the first people to play the next Danse Machina demo - which is bitchin by the way. Oh, and I'm also getting a graphics tablet next month for my birthday, so I can do my own portraits for DM.

I like the reputation meter thingymagiggleybob, although I do have to say you're all bastards, because at the moment, my rep is hangin. I hate you all. Although if you show your appreciation of my work and dedication to this site, I might just like you again. I might even talk to you.

And Hootie Hoo… You suck. Just leave me all alone in the chat why don't you. I'm lonely and want some company… helloo…

And Jarhead is a wikid movie. Its a lot like Full Metal Jacket. Although if that is any indication of the USA's military, its no wonder they get so many casualties when the Australian casualties in Iraq so far have been…

1…

And it looks like East Timor is calming down. But I think that's just what the media wants us to think. My brother's going to be there for six months now instead of three, which sort of points toward a growing unrest. Personally I don't think the military should handle it. They should round up all of the police from Wilcannia and such places and send them over. That'll fix em up.

I'm going to stop talking now. I just figured since I missed so many blog entries lately I should post a really big one. And my mechanical bug animation in 3DStudioMax is done, I would upload it but its 10 meg so I'll do it later.

Till next time!

Same thing in Thailand nowadays. Pics of corpses and blackened lungs. Nasty shit. They started it about a couple of years ago.
