…Gotcha…
Seriously though, this blog IS about the next version of Danse Machina. I want to get the next demo on the up as soon as possible (which won't be long) but I need a bit of input.I'm going away for a couple of weeks and I'm not entirely sure whether I'll be able to work on it, so I have about three days to get the next version ready unless you wanna wait for another few weeks.Anyway, now that all that's out of the way, here's the list of new features in the next version (it may be incomplete, cos I don't know what version you're all up to atm). Oh, and the purpose of the above rant was to give me an excuse in case I don't end up getting any or all of these features into the demo.-completely revamped enemy code. You probably won't notice much, but the enemy code needs fixing up.-screen shake when hit. This is already in and looks kinda groovy.-First level. The levels are very large, so I don't know how MUCH of the first level will be in it. The size of the tutorial level is about 1/10 of the size of the real ones. Of course, the levels are all broken up into sections.-Loadout screen will hopefully be more fleshed out.-Weapons. There will be several weapons, however I think you've already seen the rocket launcher and pulse rifle.-New enemies that will scare your socks off, and give a bit more of a challenge than the pissy sentinels.-Hopefully the beginnings of the introduction. In 3D. Coolies. However, I'm thinking of making it a separate download cos it will be quite large (maybe 5-8 MB in its finished form) but I promise it will be cool.-Music. I've been working on a flowing music system, where action music fades in during combat. I'll also be fixing the speed issues with using music in the game.-A few extra particles and cool bits, like pipes that burst when you shoot them, and new explosions, using Explogen, which are fantastic.I'd like ideas. If you'd like something in the next version that isn't on this list, then make it known! I'll do my best to get it done.YAY! PMs! Now all those shy people can PM me telling me how great they think I am! :P j/k
Sounds pretty awesome!
I'm not sure about the screen-shake. It may be a little distracting, but otherwise, it sounds good.
I'll be looking forward to the new demo. I just hope that it doesn't lag my computer to death.XD Download this in the morning! Can't wait!
