As some of you may know (based on my constant ranting about it) I'm getting a graphics stylus very soon. A couple of friends and myself have decided to make a webcomic.
The comic is called "Off the Record" and is based in a record store. The two main characters run the store with their mischievous robot and the automated security system, who insists on being called "ub3r destruct0krushin4t0rz 5million"…We haven't got names for the two characters yet, but they are loosely based on us. The first character hates all music besides a select few bands, none of which are mainstream, but he knows everything there is to know about music. He is very dry and cynical. The second likes pretty much everything no.1 hates. He is constantly happy, and makes lame jokes. The pet robot means well, but tends to break or burn pretty much anything he comes into contact with (think GIR). He easily malfunctions. And the store computer (HAL) which controls lighting/security/etc. is self-aware, but frustrated that it cannot escape the store. Takes it's frustrations out by playing practical jokes, and watches Terminator and the Matrix constantly. All four of them are united by thier singular hate of country music, apart from Johnny Cash, whom they all love.There are also a few other characters that come into it - Dani, an easily impressionable little girl that hangs around the store, and happens to turn up just when somebody says something that could scar a child. here's a pici (Drawn by Thanatos, inked by Malaika - note, this will not be the final quality of the comic. This is a concept drawing, and I inked it with a mouse, not a stylus, so it looks bad) DANI- a gay guy that loves Madonna. think token gay.And yes, we have noticed that there aren't many girls in the cast. We are working on it, and will have 2 girls to match the guys. Love interests may come later.oh and here's one of char no.1 (this was my first attempt at inking, and it turned out horrible, but you should get the idea with the art style. TOM*EDIT*I went back and redid the second pici. Its much better, and getting closer to the quality we'll be using in the strip (although still done with a mouse) TOM BETTER

it's got I don't know HOW many pages. It's called 'Dennis the Vision Impared Wombat' and it's kind of strange.Yeah? Well… I have a web non-comic. Yeah.
Anyway, Malaika, that looks… interesting. Hooray for really-thick-lined art!HAL should fall for the little girl, for some strange inexplicable reason.
Nice idea. I need to get a graphics stylus. So I can draw Alyssa for the new magnum opus of GM.
This is why 1 in a billion internet comics ever get viewed. The art looks really sloppy if you ask me. And the general concept isnt too original either.
But I know its the begining, so it'll hopefully get better later.Can't wait!

I know its bad at the moment, but I know I'll get better. And there's only one way to get good at something - experience. Even the best started out where we are now, and a few started out worse. But its not really important. We just wanna have fun :D
