Hello. I'm new here and taking part in the RPG contest. I usually go by the name "Knighty". but that name was taken, so now I'm MetaKnighty.
The only time I actually finish and release games are during competitions. Having a deadline makes me work harder, so this contest is a great opportunity for me.I'm a fan of JRPG's, mostly from the SNES and PlayStation era, so my game will probably turn up somewhat similar to those.I'm not a fan of random encounters, so I'm going to use an Earthbound-style encounter system, where you can see the enemies before you fight them.My idea for the battle system is a card-based and non turn-based system.First thing I'll start working on the battle system, to see if my idea will actually work.I consider myself a competent artist. I like my games to look good so this should be good practice for me.I can't make music at all, but I want to work on my game a bit before I ask for a musician. I think it'll be easier to find someone if I have a game to show, and they know exactly what kind of game they'll be making music for.I'll be making my game with ActionScript3 and Flashpunk.I'm planning on making a new blog post once every 2 weeks detailing my progress, assuming I made any progress those weeks.I didn't start working on my game until today because I was busy with other stuff, but 4 days shouldn't make such a difference considering the length of the competition.
Cute avatar. I'm lovin' it.
And interesting choice in systematic(s), using ActionScript3 and Flashpunk. Can't wait to see what you have to show us.I like you already for the Pratty avatar.
And I'm looking forward to seeing your entry.Welcome to 64Digits. =)
I'm a sucker for card-based fighting, but honestly the only good card-based game that has actually lived up to my cards-have-potential expectations is a game called Battleforge. Hopefully yours will be awesome. =DI'm excited to see what you create as well! I'm very curious to see how a non-turnbased card battle system works.
Do I spy a character from Summon Knight Swordcraft Story there? Hmm…
Nice rendition of <whatever her name was>. [/greatMemory]Welcome to the site.Well, if Fluttershy says you're cool, and twice no less, I already like you. Welcome.
Challenge accepted.
Thanks for the welcome :D
I made a sprite of the main character for my game, which is now my avatar.Welcome to 64d. Show us some of your games!
That sprite is neat-o.
