Pandora Istoria, Progress Report #1

Time for my first progress report on my RPG4D entry. Progress has been pretty slow these past weeks, so I think I need to work harder.

Story

The game takes place in a universe where planet's don't yet exist. The concept of Souls and reincarnation exists as a fact, and is a generally peaceful and boring existence. That is until recently, a person with amazing powers said able to create anything appeared. He created people with drastically different appearances and abilities then normal people, and even created deities similar to himself. Although things are definitely more interesting now, with such strange things now existing, peace is wavering. The story is centered around the goddess Pandora, who was created by that man.

Cast

Pandora

The main character in this story. She was created as a goddess by her "parents", Anesidora and Godfrey. She is pretty curious and not very good at showing her emotions, but anyone who does wrong to her will not go unpunished.

Trance

A weak-willed and frail looking boy. Sarcastic and blunt, he doesn't often get attached to people, but he becomes interested in Pandora's strange behavior.

Aria

A goddess created by Godfrey.

She seems to be cheery most of the time, but can become very serious in certain situations and is savage in battle.

Pyra & Leon

A seemingly normal couple Pandora meets. Despite being strangers, they are happy to help Pandora when she's in need.

Godfrey

The original deity that created all other gods.

Anesidora

She can be considered to be Pandora's mother, although she did not bring Pandora into the world through normal methods.

Battle system

Each card depicts an action your character can perform.

Your hand can have up to 12 cards, and is shared among your whole party.

Using the deck the the left edge of the screen will place cards in the empty spaces.

Using character buttons at the right side will switch your active character.

Each character has a stamina bar, which refills itself over time. Each time you use a card, your stamina decreases. The number on the card says how much stamina will be used. You can still use the card even if you don't have enough stamina, though.

Generally, more powerful cards have higher numbers. If your stamina runs out, that character will enter a Resting state where you cannot act until your stamina is completely refilled, but this can be avoided if you switch characters often.

Cards used in succession can create combos in certain conditions, and will increase in power.

The Combo will break if you use a wrong card, draw a card, or change the active character.

Combo types:

Flush - If the card used has the same colour of the previous card

Straight - If the card used has a number 1 higher then the previous card

Progress

-Coded most of the battle system

-Made graphics for the battle system

-Created sprites for 3 of the 5 playable characters and 2 enemies

-Lot's of planning

I have only one problem with this game…the graphics. They're too frickin' beautiful! How are the rest of us gonna have any motivation to compete in the 64RPG compo when your game looks like this?!

Lookin' hawt. Just work on the environment, which I'm sure you're planning on.
