this or that?

Ok getting ready to re-order my MacBook Pro and I have realized that the 17" model is only slightly more expensive than the 15" configuration I was intending to purchase.

Besides size, the only notable difference between the two is the displays.

With the 15" I'd be getting a 1680x1050 anti-glare display.

With the extra cost of the 17", I'm unable to fork over the extra cash for the anti-glare, so I'd be getting a 1920x1200 glossy display.

There are also some minor differences. The 17" has 3 USB ports instead of 2, and has an ExpressCard slot instead of an SD card slot.

What should I dooooo?!

PS I've pretty much decided to go with the 17" but you can try to persuade me if you want

PPS On second thought, maybe I'll just go with the 15". 17" is just a little too damn big. But I'll go with a glossy display cuz its cheaper, prettier to show off, and I didn't mind it on my first MacBook Pro. lol

You could buy a similarly specced PC if price is your concern. Personally I think 1920x1200 on a 17" screen is probably pushing it a little.

No, Macbook is my concern. lol

FYI I'm running 1920x1080 on a 15" screen right now.

Believe me, 17'' is very big, 15'' is already pushing the limits of portability. I'd go with the 15''.

Try Lenovo. Cheaper, very efficient, and isn't a Mac. :)

Just get a 12", you'll only be looking at like 2 programs on it anyway. =P

On a more serious note, I've been carrying my 17" laptop with me for years now without any real issues.

I got the 13" MacBook for portability, so I'd say 15"…but eh, up to you. :P
