HELL YEAH!

I just got Pokémon ruby on an emulator for my pc :D I’m nerdgasming right now. Im surprised I didn’t do this earlier.

Its brining back soo many great memories, and it got me thinking, why do hardly any new games have as good an atmosphere as the old ones like this? There was a certain charm about it which is absent in most “newâ€? games. I dunno, maybe its just because of the memories associated with it, but I can definitely remember having had more fun playing that game than possibly any other game I have played, with the possible exception of half life 2 and its episodes.

Sorry, but Black/White is definitely the best in the series.

The storyline is deeper, the environments richer, the gameplay more refined and perfected, the depth increased significantly, the visuals improved, AND the new Pokemon give a much larger type variety than most that have come before.

Unless you're one of *those* people who hate the new ones because the pokemon aren't nearly as pretty as the older generations or don't have names that are as clever, then you're one of the reasons why graphics is kicking in the front seat while gameplay is sitting in the back seat.

On-topic Moikle. I also greatly enjoyed Ruby/Sapphire. The Pokemon contests were actually a *ton* of fun and I really enjoyed the change of pace. I think I have the fondest memories with Ruby/Sapphire even though I never owned either (it was my brother's and I'd play on his :P)

I personally liked Diamond, but then again, that was really my first Pokemon game. I tried Emerald and a couple others later, including SoulSilver, which I couldn't get into. Diamond had this nice feel to it that I couldn't get from other games. I haven't played White, but my brother has it and he seems to love it. But I do agree that the new Pokemon names are pretty terrible, as are some of their appearances. Other than that, I've definitely enjoyed it, but can't really give my opinion until I've played it. Damn limits to single save files.

Ruby/Sapphire were good, but the region was the least interesting to me out of all the generations. Pokemon Black/White are complete awesome, but there were some flaws too. Like how triple battles are practically non-existant and how after the elite 4 the region is suddenly full of foreign pokemon. Still they've made great improvements over the years, if it wasn't for nostalgia I'd guess that each generation is better than the previous.

The best games are Yellow, C/S/G, R/S/E, FR/LG

I've said it before

Recently I've found Twilight to be funner than any of the newer ones lol. And it's not even official haha.

I never played any of the pokemon games past Red/Blue/Yellow. I know, hate me for it :< I didn't have the cash to buy games at that time in my life, and my brothers were jerks who wouldn't let me use their copy because they didn't want to lose their saves (even though they hadn't played for more than 6 months).

I should load up some of the GBA games on my phone. Gameboid FTW!

Yeah I hear you bob. Lack of triple battles was disappointing (They're almost completely absent in Black!), but oh my god Rotation battles are the best shit ever.

It takes the already highly predictive nature of Pokemon and kicks it up to 11. It's insane!
