For some reason I like to make graphical user interfaces. Either an actual interactive interface, or just the graphics. I remember back in the GM-days I did a lot of menus for various folks. Not sure why. I guess I just got hooked once I figured out how to make an effective menu system. A lot of people don't bother to make a proper system, and especially GM-users back in those days.
Here's one I am working on now. I simply felt like making UI-elements after I saw some pictures of GUIs on Google Images. Here's the one I did for a game. The final version shouldn't be too far from this one: Here's actually how the above one started out. Looks a bit iffy. You'll probably need to right click and get URL to see these images in full size.Fin.
Thanks. I agree with you on there not being enough contrast in the titles over the boxes and the combinations of colors in the lists. I've tried coming up with solutions, but every time I've come back to the way it is now.
I also think that screen (middle one) in particular looks a bit messy, but there is a lot of information to be displayed on a single screen.I did not know about this magical tnail tag. Nice.I've always loved your UIs. I remember using the examples you made and wondering how the heck you made this even though I was looking at how you did it. I'm still impressed with both the function you put into your menus and their aesthetics as well.
Cool. Thanks LAR Games.
What LAR said.
These are really good and I feel compelled to tinker around in a program and try to recreate some of these. :DThe designs look great. I've used your "Professional Menu Scripts" a few times in the past.
Ugh, such a stupid name for a bunch of menu scripts. =P I still use a system that is similar, actually - except the methods I use now makes it easier to set up the whole menu.
I'd like to see some new stuff from you.
Well, right now I'm having some trouble getting textures to blend properly in OpenGL. I made a thread about it on facepunch: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1198195
I like the artwork in your GUI systems. They look great. I'm working on a design for a map editor at the moment and haven't decided what kind of "look" I want. I want it to look professional, but stay away from the boring default grey layouts that most software created on Windows use. At the same time, I don't want to get too crazy with a unique look and make it appear "cartoonish" and distracting.
You are great with the menus you make. I remember a few games I played that included menus by you, and they were nicely done.
