I am ready, and looking forward to put all this behind me :)
Btw, how was your first year in college? Was it easy to make friends?*UCSD.CyEdit: Whoops, my typo made me refer to an entirely different school looool
You will meet people with similar interests in college. I bet you didn't find any good friends through sports because you're not naturally drawn to sports.
I'm shy by nature as well, but it's important to remember that most people are insecure in some way. When I view people through that "lens of knowledge" (how cheesy…) it becomes much easier to interact. Also, getting your teen years behind you will make it a lot easier.
Yeah, when you get to college you should meet more people with similar interests to you. That was my experience, at least. I'm the only CompSci major from my grade 12 class, and in coming to university I actually met flesh and blood people who knew and cared about programming and Internet junk. It was quite amazing.
Tertiary education weeds out all (well, most of) the brainless people, and presumably you'll be doing a course that interests you, and will have classmates that are similarly interested in it.Cyrus is right about not just restricting yourself to classmates and residence pals, though. Join a society/club/whatever or two that interests you as well.
That actually sounds like something very difficult to do, even for someone like me who does almost literally nothing at all. Shit, I'm pretty fucking impressed. God damn, shit, I guess, uhh… Get well?

Yeah man. going to college just makes everything awesome.
I have that same problem except without the depression. It's a little worrying.
