So much has happened since I was last here, but I shall spare you with the personal details.
I love game making. My problem, that I know many of you share, is actually completing a game. Every time I work on a project I get frustrated with the programming side of things, and give up, and all the code and art that went with it goes to the grave. I am majoring in computer science at my university, but my passion has and always will be in art and design. So. I have decided to stop trying to force myself to like programming. I mean I'm average at it (at least for the first two years of college); I just want to finish a god damn game already. My plan is to finish all or a good portion of the visual assets of a game and a VERY detailed design document to go with it, and then find a programmer to do the programming side of things. So anyways, here's what I'm working on.(Click the link below to actually see the image in all of its pixely glory).http://i.imgur.com/RbW1BxJ.pngIt's a work in progress, obviously. I'll update as I progress.I just felt extremely nostalgic for a second.
Hey everyone :D
Cesque: Yeah, I'm not really happy with the sprites. Character design is my weakness; there's just something "boring" about them. hel: Thanks man. I'll be sure to keep you in mind. Though, I want to finish the assets before I think about the programming side of things :)JuurianChi: Hi. I usually use Game Maker, but I want to move more towards Java or C#/XNA. Unity is a cool idea which I think I could handle with the right plugins. SpectreNectar: Hi :) .Rez: LET'S DO IT. I'M SO PUMPED.About the avatar: it's my favorite character from my favorite game. I love the feel and atmosphere of Paper Mario, it's for sure an inspiration for the game I'm working on ;)How do I upvote? I'm noob :/
It's just simple "+1-ing" Kinda like Google Plus.
You see a comment you like and you throw silent support behind it by clicking "+1"mush is alive :D
@Cyrus: Except that's what I do - Cyrus you got a problem cause if you got beef I can make some burgers bro you don't even know go check yourself before you wreck yourself man.
@Cryus: Perhaps comments should auto +1?
@twisterghost
Redundant.Oh, read it backwards.
Still, though. Perhaps +1's could just become 'points' as a function of comments and likes.Wow, that looks really nice! I love the trees and the cabin especially :D. Although i'm sure lots of other people have said this, i would love to be a programmer for this :D(Btw, i saw that you wanted it programmed in something other than gamemaker. I have experience in C#, and have also made a small game in Delphi so yeah :D). It looks really interesting, can't wait to find out more about the story, and see more art work :D.
UPDATE. Almost done.
Click it for da pixels.
