9k hits, yay.

Posted by PY on April 18, 2008, 3:53 p.m.

And YOU can help it happen.

I say can, you have already, but whatever, hits don't really mean anything, do they?

Anyway, I don't blog much anymore, not that I have much to blog about, that is.

If I pretend I'm ronnica, will people come to my blog more? I swear the 'Girl effect' far outweighs the 'Staff effect' on your hits, even Vezper, who wasn't a girl at all, got half my hits in a matter of weeks.

Ronnica is fast catching up, too, and if she stays here at 64D for much longer, she'll start breeching 10, 15k.

Not that I've anything against mrs …, it just seems very strange that anyone who seems remotely female gets people returning to their page so often. I mean, what do people think, she'll post an address, and a offer of evolutionary goal fulfilment?

Unlikely to happen, don't you all think?

Anyway, this won't change anything, it happens to all 64girls, with the possible exception of whatever fsx's girl was, devoktcha, but she was… kinda power crazed. Seriously, you'd probably of gotten banned for looking at her page, I can't think of many other reasons for her banning spree.

Anyway, off my rant shoes, on my gm shoes. They're really really old and tatty, now, I haven't worn them for ages. My XNA shoes are newer, and nicer, but I don't know them as well, and anyway, they don't fit with my exam socks. Nothing fits with my exam socks, they're icky, and I want to burn them.

Can't get the matches for a few months, though, which is a bummer.

My gaming shoes are good enough to go with anything, apart from my immenent exam trousers, but they're made of steel, and I can't get any shoes on at all wearing them!

For now, though, I can, and have been playing through super mario galaxy, which is an incredible game. Seriously, if you haven't played it, go buy a wii (Or beg, borrow or steal one, either/or), and play it, because it takes everything sunshine was, and improves it. Beats mario 64, as far as I'm concerned. More level variation (Each world (or 'galaxy', now) has between 1 and around 5 stars in it, meaning you'll see a hell of a lot more levels. The gravity is also used to create some great platforming, as you figure out just where you can be to fling yourself wherever, which is damn awesome. Graphics aren't half bad, either, it could easily be a graphicly average 360 game, whcih isn't bad for a console that uses less than a tenth the power, and doesn't sound like an aeroplane taking off.

Talking of aero, windows vista (Uh huh, the new GUI is called windows aero, and is powered by the DWM( That's desktop window manager, not dragon warrior monsters, eagly!)) is now much faster and more stable with the new service pack one. Some antiviruses basicly stopped working after it, though, due to not being allowed access at low levels, but that's a fairly minor point, overall compatibility has improved. Regardless, XP had compatibilty problems too (And, beleive it or not, the XP transformation pack allows your 2000 machine to look just like the new XP!!!), so, yeah, I like my OS.

Talking of OS' George was recently dissuaded from getting a PoS computermac, which, while the outcome is a good thing, is a pretty bad case of peer pressure. He wanted a mac, what's it got to do with us whether he wants to buy something that will render his machine useless apart from the great programs that come with it, eh?

Talking of peers, it's sad I have to call RedChu a peer, I don't know what it was, but I never liked him. No idea how I managed to get on his favorites list, seems an odd thing on his behalf, to friend the people that hate him. Why not friend sk8 too?

He's on snowmoons now, so if anyone wants to follow him, his blog that was made several days ago is still 2nd top (speed of that community, talk about the fast lane!)

Err, natural progression of bloggae sees no options, agh!

OK, options. My 'options' in year 9 were what subjects I wanted to take for GSCE, and now I'm almost done them, I get to choose what subjects I want for A-Level! I'm thinking of taking Maths, Computing, Chemistry, and Physics, which seems like a fun and interesting combination, yay!

Talking of fun, I recently got a 2GB USB stick, upon which I placed a whole load of portable apps (Talking of which, my portable photoshop torrent is probably done by now), and a bunch of emulators! (That's where the fun comes in, btw) So, if there are any games people think I should carry around with my 24/7, tell me here! (Pre-n64, please, Project64 had a nasty habit of BSoDing my old PC, and I can't find ANY original playstation ROMs, so…)

Talking of ROMs, it appears that Virtual Console games are just an effectivly zip'd ROM (Playable on any emulator, too!) and a bunch of HTML files for the help. That's what you;d expect, apart fom thinking there might be a little more protection, but the worst part is that every game comes packaged with it's own emulator! What the hell were nintendo taking when they thought 'Lets beef up the downloads with unneccesary bits, woo!' when they could have simply downloaded the emu with your first game for that console!

Madness, says me. I am PY, that is also my name on IRC, come into IRC, IRC is a fun fun place.

I reccomend mIRC, but if you're running firefox you may as well look at chatzilla, and if you're running opera, I think it has a client built in.

Talking of madness, this blog has gone on long enough, feel free to say tl;dr, having probably read it anyway.

Pip pip, tea and crumpets, anyone?

You should see my inbox. "Wanna trade friend for a friend. Add em and I'll add you" Like it's some fucking competition. Which is why my friend list is empty.

Also I'm totally gonna make his life hell on Snowmoons too.

Just a note, Macs aren't especially bad; in fact they're a lot nicer to look at than Windows. Unfortunately, Mac fails at compatibility. To remedy this, you get a Windows AND a Mac so you can do seriuse business/garageband etc on one and games on the other.

You must be new. Welcome to the internet.

tl;dr

Not really. Super Mario Galaxy is a great game. I got to around 92 stars until it became too difficult for my tastes.

Vista sucks, with or without SP1. I won't switch to it until one of my computers die.

….That means I have several copies of the same emu in my wii? What the heck? Btw, where would you get that information?
