A few strange game ideas I had recently.

Recently, I had some really unusual game ideas. I want to see what you guys think. (Be aware that these ideas are mine. They CANNOT be used taken without asking.)

Candy Crush/Bejewled style 2D platformer:

So, candy crush, bejewled (and lots of other match 3 games) have line busters, bombs, etc.

So, WHAT IF A GUY USED THEM TO FIGHT ENEMIES?

Like a space invaders style thing.

That got me thinking.

What if I were to, I don't know, make a 2D platform game (like the original mario games for you non-developers out there) where you can only attack by using line busters and bombs. The walls of a level would form one giant match 3 board. Different blocks could represent different things like water, ground, coins, etc. The player could fall through holes made by moves, so it could be used to move lower. On the same token, it could kill the player. Walls could also be busted out to form entrances to caves, hidden paths, etc.

Will add more later.

I thought your opinion was that people shouldn't talk about game types, and they should talk about actual games.

You know, rather than posting about your game ideas, you should consider making one of them and posting about it afterward.

aim for writing blogs that encourage meaningful discussion, rather than showing off random content, such as, for example, a list of ideas with no actual work behind them.

So maybe consider working on a game. You are more than welcome to show that off instead.

I don't see how you could have misinterpreted what he said. Looks pretty straightforward to me.

It's something which would require experimenting with, nothing wrong with the idea itself but it would be hard to pull off, because you're don't know exactly what the gameplay is, or if it will work. Also sounds like a variation on Mr. Driller and/or Super Puzzle Platformer, so it's not as unusual as you think.

Steven is a goddamn saint.

Thanks Steven. That clears up a lot. When Kilin said that Smarty replaced him, I just figured he was a mod on the gmc, since that would be the only way he could be a greeter. Also, I wasn't really arguing with him. I might be remembering wrong, but until DesertFox replyed, I don't think I argued with him. I might have explained what the blog was for a little better, but I wasn't saying he was wrong. Rules are rules, I get that. I don't have to always like them (not reffering to any rules I know of you guys having), but I will always follow them to best of my ability.

Also, just as you Steven said that my jokes have no context, the reverse applies to you guys. I have no knowledge of the history of this place. For all I know, you are all professionals.

Also, Steven, I never said it was server's fault in this case. I simply asked if I had deleted a post. I had hit a delete button, and I thought I declined. I was merely asking if I /had/ messed up, or if I was just getting the pages mixed up. Plus, I already talked to Aeron about the first incident. I explained the whole thing to him, and what he told me is that I probably have/had a virus or a software issue of some kind. I have since then checked for updates on everything and I believe the problem has been solved.

(Also, any rumors of the glitch pasting my clipboard were false. It turns out that I was wrong. I had forgotten that the clipboard at the time was something completely different. Anyway, quit dragging it up. I was only asking if /I/ accidentally deleted a post. If I thought it was the software, I would have told Aeron by now, which I haven't.)

EDIT: Also, could we please be, at least, a little more on topic please?
