Little done.

With a little more work in Sketchup I found out that faces are displayed differently when they're reversed. Like a slightly darker shade.

So thats good news, no longer have to use anim8tor for fixing the faces, just applying the texture map.

I've managed to pop out another little ship. I've quite a few planned, some based off of designs 10 to 15 years old. I started this project sometime in High School.

This ship represents a combat model, were as the last one was a transportation model. There are 6 different size classes for ships, 3 for stations.

Further details on ships is that their internal components will be replacable, upgradable and customizable. Parts will include rooms(cockpit, computer system, lodging), weapons, engine, ect.

Besides basic combat and trading missions that would apply, you'll also have various other choices like entertainment. For example you can get yourself a large ship and make it a luxury liner. At least thats the concept.

No details on the ground level aspects.

Exteriors will only be customizable by color and general look. Depending on armor types, the applied gloss effects will vary as well as metal tints.

Another thing to test out, now that I have these ships texture mapped, is damage splatting. I'm not totally sure how I shall go about this, either make custom ones in game, or use texture layers.

The drawback with the layers is that I'm limited to 7, including the base gloss map that is added.

This looks pretty awesome. Anything with spaceships is insta-win.
