Voxelized character

Here a shot showing the early stage of my template character.

It'll be interesting to see how frame based voxel animation looks. Maybe 4-6 frames?

I'll put an update on it once I get a basic walking animation.

Also I now have support for different walls, floors and ceilings again. It was eliminated after the conversion when the map was converted to a 2d. I found a way around it by having the different wall faces represented by decimals. Something like 01.010101 for a wall and -01.01 for floors and ceilings.

Haven't had the new tiles corrected yet so they don't blend quite right yet.

Damn, that's the most interesting thing I've seen all day.

The scene as a whole kind of has that RuneScape look, but this isn't the kind of thing you see every day.

You should work on making the character a little more proportionally correct, unless you're going for a the overall style of a top-down RPG character.

Nonetheless, mad props.

I think I'm going to make head a little shorter and the legs longer.

I'm kind of slapping this together. I'll polish things up to make it little less retro and more what one wish a 3d version of a console rpg would look like in first person. Or that's how I think it will look.

Maybe it's just me, but in your last demo the mouse didn't work, am I supposed to hold down a button?

It was recently added.

This is quite literally 3D pixel art.

Amazing stuff!

Reminds me of a retro/runescape version of 3D Dot heroes

Yeah, but that reminds me more of cubic legos.
