Coloraze Contest: Day Three

Posted by Siert on Feb. 3, 2007, 9:40 a.m.

Well, since I haven't been able to come up with any good levels for Coloraze, I'm holding a contest for who can make the best level. I'm going to be releasing another version with all contestent's levels included! So make a level and post a link to it here. This is the second day of the contest and hopefully I will be able to carry the contest through the weekend (one more day). Judging will be on Sunday (one day from now).

*update: redone, download again*

-Download-

*note: you need to extract the executable to save the level files*

Notice, that version doesn't have the normal levels in it. If you want your level to be included, submit it before this blog is off the front page.

Judges:

twisterghost

kevboh

serpex

Contestants:

darktemp7 (GMC) with Look Before You Leap

Graydon77222 with Exposier, Prime Hunter, Invisaball and Lock and Key

serprex with Linear, TowerLabyrinth and NLinear

MrPacman with Confusion, Centered and Detours

HandrawnMan with Complications

Marbs with Don't Go Blue

Kenon with Through the Rabbit Hole and Back

GTVG with Don't Get Red Get Blue

For those of you who want to see how the game is layed out, check this out 64Digits Topic the real game is layed out a little differently and the level editor looks different, but then you can see what my levels look like. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT submit games made with other level editors in different versions, only use the level editor on this page. (up above)

To try the other contestants games, you need to download Coloraze (the download on this page), extract it, put it in the same folder as the level you want to play, start Coloraze, then go to load level, then select the level you want to play.

Please post your levels and try to make the best level for Coloraze, now, GO!

UGH=Cinematics

Can't rate this like a normal one,why don't you just make it a fall down a bunch of them and let it simply be viewed? If I rate this as a game, its the worse.

Don'tGetRedGetBlue=You basically made a larger Don'tGetBlue?DGB is good because its short.Come on,DGRGB is a total ripoff. It doesn't have any innovation.

my final and ultimate project: Detours

this one features quite complex puzzles that took me a while to do and figure out. It's straight to get to the finish but to get there, you need to get past some detours, hence, the name

Detours=Interesting setup, though the path to the end is already blocked without the locks. An interesting part is there being 3 attainable keys, and only the need to break 2 locks.I was worried when I saw its creator, but MrPacman has improved.

GEEZ!

The thing has come to be a deadline,so I figure you'll have to ask to have it included or something…so difficult to keep up with you people…

Graydon 17 years, 10 months ago

Well that is my last entry for the contest, but I will still make more and mabye in a week I'll post all my creations in a blog.

Trickery=Nice one, though bI've already sent my votes in so….Just ask to have it included.

NewBlue=May want to get it swapped, though I disagree with the 1st lock. You have to let the player go by it and be like "OMG!!!I NEED A KEY!!!"once they get to the end of the level.

I would like Trickery included in the voting because It is my most complex in my opinion.
