Game Moderators

Hello there. Some of you may know me as Cookinater, some of you may know me as SquareWheel, still others may know me as that guy with the binoculars. Either way, you are reading my blog and that's a good thing.

Game Moderators

First off I thought I'd have a small rant about Game Moderators. Now it's common knowledge that our queue is a slow process. The people want their games out within hours or days, not a month or two. I understand that the mods are doing what they can, so I say why not make more? It may cause conflict between the mods as to what is allowed, and what isn't. So I think we should have more specific guidelines to follow for what is acceptable, and what is pure rubbish. Quality and speed are the two major points we could improve on here at Sixty Four Digits. Talk it over administration, and decide who would be able to help keep the queue flowing smoothly. Thank you.

Gamemaker

Well, I decided I wanted to be super unoriginal so I made myself a platform game based fairly heavily on Albero, a game by Dex. It's actually looking quite nice so far. Although because I don't generally do platform, I'm running into some common problems I don't know the answer to. One being my collisions are landing me 1 pixel above the ground. I have a second problem where if I collide with a solid at an angle, I'll stop in midair until I release a certain key, then shoot down at more speed then it's supposed to. I did design the acceleration, deceleration, upgrade system, floating, ducking, roof walking, and whatever other cool things I added in. If anyone wants to give me a hand, please message me. GM7 Reg Oh dear, I just realized I've been calling deceleration, deacceleration throughout the whole game. Sigh

Some Competitions, Finally

Yes, there are many competitions going. The main one being the YYG Winter Games Competition. There is a prize of one grand, which beats the hell out of a custom banner made by some guy in 5 minutes. I'm not sure if I'm entering, but if I am it will be a late submission.

We also have a winner for our Friends Badge. Congratulations to the winner (For the life of me, I cannot remember who). Some said this badge was racist, but it's the color of the three common medals, not human races. I think it looks great.

Now we have a banner contest. I lost last year, and 64D has grown much bigger since then so I figure I have no chance this year. It would take me to long to open up Fireworks anyways.

New Personal computer

Oh yes, I'm still looking. I'm pretty into the PC I posted last blog though, with the 1TB hard drive and the Core 2 Quad Processor, I'm pretty sycked anyways. (Is "sycked" a word in the English Dictionary…?) Anyways, hopefully I'll have this thing on my desk within a month or so.

Well, that's about it. Thanks for the hit, and for the feeling that I'm better than someone with less hits. Yes, there is such a feeling.

Damn, I can type a lot without meaning too.

1tb?

Just one? Check my last few blogs for the huge quote, now tell me you don't want that.

But seriosuly, why a whole terrabyte? I've had my 90Gb for 3 years now, and still have 8 left, +the 20 I have partitioned for Ubuntu, so your computer will be outdated long before you have HDD problems!

It'd be interesting if someone made an interactive banner

That PC would cost half just by building it yourself,

K listen, here take this stuff:

http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/AddToCart.aspx?Submit=Add&itemList=N82E16811144151%7c1%2cN82E16820161028%7c1%2cN82E16813188015%7c1%2cN82E16817182070%7c1%2cN82E16814150232%7c1%2cN82E16822148288%7c2%2cN82E16832116400%7c1%2cN82E16835186134%7c1%2cN82E16827106072%7c2%2cCOMBO.66380.00-992-031%7c1

And add 2 of these:

Buy it.

When you get it all, open up your case and take it out, open it.

* I RECOMMEND BUYING ANTI STATIC DEVICES, SPRAYS, WHATEVER BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING *

Take out the I/O plate and install the provided one, then open the fan, attach the bracket if one exists… Then screw motherboard in fan

Open your processor and install it into the LGA775 slot, then throw that fan away, its garbage, install the one i provided… *DO A DRY FIT WITHOUT THERMAL PASTE FIRST* After doing a dry fit, remove it all and put thermal paste on then do a permanent fit. Remember, less thermal paste is generally beter!

After the procsesor is installed, just snap in your RAM…

Take out the HD cage and install both HD's into the cage and attach the SATA cords into both the HD and the motherboard

Do same for the DVD drives

Install power supply, put the 4 pin in the slot near the procsesor, the 24 pin wherever it fits… and attach the power cords to the HD's/DVD burners

Plug in your 8800GTX (Graphics card) in the top PCIE slot, then plug in the power cord to that… (its a 6 pin), but i think there are 2 on the 8800GTX… :P

There are little tabs that come from where the power button is on the case, plug those in on the little prongs. The manual should tell you which one is the power button, reset button, etc..

After that, everything should be done physically. Try booting it up without any CD in to see if your BIOS appear..

If it does, yaey. anything else, pull the plug.

Install Windows (Stick in the CD)

…that should be it, anyone find any mistakes?

(This PC owns the FUCK out of that PC you pointed out)
