Excellent News

Progress on everything I am working on has been postponed indefinitely as the librarians at my school have come to the conclusion that my testing of my projects has been influencing everyone else into playing video games, which has been strictly disallowed.

They're going so far as to shut me down when I'm logged in, have GM open, but no game.

Unfortunately, this not only keeps me out of Frosty Four, but it also puts the Ricerca Strano 0.1 and Lunacy Star 1.0 releases on hold forever.

Sorry, everyone.

In totally related news, happy birthday to Ferret.

My phone can't render animations, so I can't watch you dance.

Back to math class~

I was able to pass off using Game Maker as part of my Computer Science class.

Now the librarians don't bother me anymore. They only bother those who aren't me playing games.

lollibrarians

I remember this one time I was running a simulator I programmed in GM for a science research class on a library computer and one of the librarians came up behind me asking why I had a game open…then I had to explain it was a simulator and show her I was inputting the data into Excel between runs…

and then there was this other time I had my computer get hijacked because I had MS Paint open…

yeah…good times…

Lucky for me, we have open computer labs where students can come in and log on and do anything. Even look at porn if they so wish. Obviously academic work gets precedence if the lab is full, but it's better than having a librarian looking over your shoulder.

Though we do have a library lab as well that give access to the general public. Needless to say, you can't view porn on there. But I have played games in the off hours. Heh. Silly librarians.

Boot up from a Windows LiveCD! In the future, you'll be able to use Windows To Go as well.

Also, just buy a damn computer! You can probably get an old Pentium 4 for, like $50 or less, more than enough to run GM.

I don't have the funding, nor the parental consent to buy / own / use / think of a computer.

I wouldn't be bitching if I were able to work from home.

do you not have access to ANY computer at home?

Someone ship Taizen a fucking laptop already. This bro needs a bailout.

Also, in high school, I brought my laptop every day. Now I'm in college and don't because the school computers have almost everything I need.

Fuck library computers. The librarians used to give me shit for doing my homework from my programming class (C++) on my netbook during free blocks, yet when me and my friends are in the computer lab (which is like 95% of the time we weren't in other classes :P) we would often have giant StarCraft LANs, even sometimes in class. Hell, sometimes the teacher would join in. I miss that guy… and unlike the other computer-related teachers, he would actually fucking help you with programming.

One day I got caught for joining this underground group of students in HS who were circulating the Halo PC trial around in the pictures folder as a jpeg, and were holding giant LAN battles all over the place. Man, those were great times. Almost got suspended though, lol.

They allow personal ftp filespaces for students at my college.

Guess you can finish working when you enroll.
