I cannot for the life of me come up with original songs anymore.
So I've taken to remixing old ones.Lunacy Star's menu musicLunacy Star's Stage 1 musicRemixed version of menu musicRemixed version of Stage 1 musicIf you'd like to listen to the remainder of the original Lunacy Star soundtrack, perhaps in anticipation of the worse-sounding remixes, you can find it at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48264981/LunacyStarMusic.zipI've also put together a Sound Cloud (Because I also want to be a cool kid) that unfortunately only currently houses part of the GST to Lunacy Star 2.You can find the entire set here, but the newest additions, the themes for Stage 5, are listed below because they're actually new.Stage 5-1Stage 5-2Stage 5-3Final BossI dunno what the problem is, but there's a weird block in place that prevents me from composing anything else. And anything else I try, if it's not abjectly horrible, doesn't fit into anything but a shooting game >_>;I dunno, comments appreciated.…… I was really hoping I'd put together an original song for this blog, but that didn't work out.
I use FL Studio. I've been producing music on it since 2008. Do you make music, just to make music, or for your games only?
I make music somewhat for both.
At first, it was to make music, and then it turned into "hm, I could use the songs I make in my games," to "I should make a song for this game."This is evident, I think, in some of my earlier songs, because they don't particularly fit very well into games.But shooting game songs are fuuuuuuuun! :D
I personally use Schism Tracker… but I'm prolly the only one who does…I want to listen to these, but it will have to wait until I get home.
Although, I have a feeling I've already listened to them.Well, there's no way you could have listened to the LS1 remixes before, because I made them yesterday :V
The first intro of your main menu theme is actually very similar to the main theme intro of an old Commodore 64 game; Parallax.
Anyway, why are you using midis instead of a rendered format such as mp3?I use midis as sort of an intermediate step in the composition process; all of the LS2 songs were midis at first, and then I just did some tweaking when swapping out the instruments.
Thanks for the comment by the way, but I don't see it ^^;
