I tried Dark Souls once, because my friends were absolutely obsessed with it for the better half of a year, although I never saw the allure. I made a Thief and promptly purchased a spear and no armor and ran circles around slinky skeleton monsters, doing flips and shit and avoiding every attack whilst intermittently perforating their skulls with a pointy stick. My friend got mad at me, telling me I was doing it wrong.

I haven't played it since, but seriously it didn't seem that difficult.

There is no wrong way to play it, your friend was just being annoying :P

Dark Souls has an easier introduction and doesn't really get too terribly difficult until much later. How far did you even get? Skeleton dudes are only the tutorial and first section.

Demon's Souls in general was harder, in fact the first level always feels like the hardest part of the game for people.
